Wouldn't call it a growth spurt, but I get more retention. I always cut about an inch or more of my hair off (split ends) before summer. By the end of the summer I regain that plus more. I have to be more protective in the winter to get the same progress.

I dont really know when I get the most growth. I would say summer since I wash my hair more often cause I sweat. But then again I would say winter to cause my hair is up more. So im not sure. Next season Im going to measure from start to finish to see how much I get. I will post results in my blog http://hairstrandz.blogspot.com/

I definitely get a spurt in the summer. I also workout more in the summer, eat healthier, etc. I just think my body is just usually functioning at maximum capacity in the summer.

:nono: No spurt here. Trimmed my hair in May and it's now just getting back to the length is was. Ugghh Maybe closer to fall cause I remember last year I was full shoulder in March and by October, I was APL. Growth spurt or regular growth I don't know.

i'm not really sure...last year i think i got a growth spurt in the summer but this year has been less than stellar. hmmm :scratchch

My growth spurts start in the spring and ends about mid fall. I have virtually no growth in the winter:nono:. I have no idea why seeing that I live in the tropics. Anyhoo, half an inch a month is about the extent of my growth spurt, my hair grows slowly by the way but with the help of MN now, it's growing about an extra eigth of an inch more than the norm. It makes up for the winter months 1/4" or less of growth.

When I feel like this I stay bunned and try to forget about it for a while. By the next time you length check it's grown more than you thought. Stay motivated sister!!
I love you girl.... Thank you for the encouragement!

My growth spurts are in Summer, always have been. My summer so far has been stressful and filled with sickness. I am experiencing more than normal breakage/shedding- haven't figured it out just yet. Hopefully it will come around soon and I will remain on target for my next growth check this fall.
:bighug: didn't know you weren't well. Praying for you that you will heal quickly!

That's a good idea...I will do that as well.

You are absolutely beautiful! ITA with the fact of eating better in the Summer and the sun helps us as well:yep:

Hi Aggie  I haven't been using any growth aids, just so that I could see if there is a difference...yep, there's a difference! My growth isn't as much as when I did use them...so, I might just go back to doing it again:yep:

I get these super growth spurts in the Summer and in the Fall and Winter, it seems that my hair barely grows at all. THe spring time is the same as the summer.

I voted summer--but I came to realize that that's because summer is an active time and theres lots of water drinking and fresh foods. (Partly because there hasnt been nearly as much of this going on THIS summer as there should have been--and my hair has behaved accordingly.) As such, I'm sure that actual consistency in my efforts to be healthier (and lose some weight) will take the whole hair thing up a notch.

Hey N&W, I feel the same way honey. I stopped using MT/OCT on a regular basis and started using MN again more regularly because I feel it works better for me, so I will stick with it. The MT/OCT, I will use to DC with for a quick protein treatment when I think I need it:yep:.

I get the best growth during the summer. I know when I lived in Alabama my hair grew like a weed because it stayed hot so long. I get decent growth here in Georgia too. I'm hoping my hair shoots off in Texas.

I havent notice a growth spurt...just regular growth. The only growth spurt that im trying to understand is my nails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are elong as I dunno what!

when i was measuring my hair last yr , i discovered that i got a big growth spurt around the end of the year which was odd to me cause i thought everyones hair grew better in the summer. i ll have to start keeping track again to see if it happens again this winter.

Maybe you are right....

See, I couldn't use MN cause it gave me headaches, but the MT/OCT is wonderful and I like to use it for protein treatments as well. I don't use it when I do my Cassia though...that stuff stands all by itself:yep:

Girl....when you find out about your nails, let me know:grin:

This is why I started this thread because I have realized that I get my growth beginning in Fall through the Winter. I'm going to measure this time as well.

I don't get any :ohwell:.
You are getting something because I'm sure your hair has grown since I saw your first pic. Why don't you do a pic comparison in this thread? I wanna see....:yep:

Last night after I massaged my scalp with Vatika Oil, I used the Amla Oil on my hair and it made my hair really soft. I then combed my hair, something which I hardly ever do when its dry, but since I had put oil on it, I felt it was ok. Well, to my surprise...my hair is actually longer than I thought it was:yep: It looks longer and fuller and I have to say that I got a little excited:grin:

I'm looking to be full BSL by the end of the year:yep: and I ain't playin....:look::lachen:

I don't think I get any at all:nono: Mine begin at the end of Fall and stops in mid-Spring. I can't wait until the Fall now....shucks!:lachen:

If you are having your growth spurt, how much growth have you had?

Probably about an inch to an inch and one half per month. I think it's b/c it's so humid down here and that helps with the whole shedding/ retention cycle. I am excited to see how my hair does this fall though since I have found this forum and feel as though I am in a position to care for it better. :yep:

I'm in month 29 or something now but I cut about 2" off just after the above pic. I protective style a lot but no growth spurts in the summer. I've only had one real spurt since taking care of my hair.

Girl, you have the prettiest hair:grin:. It is so thick...I love it!

Your hair has grown so much since your first picture. Your hair grows, girl and its growing nicely too!

I usually get growth spurts during the summer but this summer has been cool and mild which is great but I think the hot weather has something to do with it.

I'm new to this ya'll, this is my first post :look:. I need to figure out how to create a photo and start posting photos.

I think heat and moister during the summer bring life to my hair, thats when I noticed the most growth at the end of the summer. Also trimming my ends every three months or so helps a lot.
