How long is it taking people to just flat iron these days?

The flat ironing took 1 ½ hours with a ceramic iron. My shoulders are still a little sore. I bet the longer the hair the more/longer the pain. My routine is simple so I think maybe I’m being a little too anal about getting every strand straight.

  • Spray on thermal spray
  • Smooth on just a little pressing oil
  • Lastly, run flat iron over hair 2x.

Takes me forever. At least over a hour. I just cannot be bothered. I rather do an roller set and touch it up if I must. Saving the flat iron for the salon. Plus, my luck - anytime I flat iron, it rains. Ugh.

This was me on Saturday getting ready for a wedding... it took me 1 1/2 hours and I rushed the last 15 minutes because I was running late. It probably would have been an even 2 hours. I used your same technique.

It took me about 30-40 minutes this past weekend. I rarely flat iron my hair because it's so tedious. I usually just rollerset my hair, but then I have to sit under the dryer for 50+ minutes. Either way, it takes a lot of time.

My rollersets take about an 45 minutes and and even with silk wraps aren't straight enough. I need to practice more to get under a 1/2 hour.

that's my method too. it takes me 30 minutes to blowdry and 30 minutes to flatiron.

About 1 1/2 to 2hrs :( ...going from a natural poof to silky straight.

1. Blow dry in sections..using BIOSILK ( a few drops)
2.Take very tiny sections, pass through once with a hotcomb and then once over with my MAXIGLIDE

about 45 minutes. I sometimes use a spray onbig sections but my heat protectant is a cream i mix with my leave in

Last time I used a cream my hair reverted. I was trying to flat iron natural hair and a cream sounded like a good idea. Now that i'm relaxed I might try the cream again.

I could have easily taken another 1/2 hour, but it was getting hot with all that heat.

A good hour after I blow it out so about a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes-30 minutes!

Okay that more like it! I might have to watch a beautician flat iron. Maybe I can pick up some tips to go faster.

i use a straightening cream and mix it with Chi silk infusion. The silk infusion will prevent it from reverting

My hair looks really nice when I TAKE MY TIME and PRACTICE MY LIL TECHNIQUE
I have going on. Its not about how fast you blow and flatiron your hair, its about
looking like a hot diva instead of a hot mess because you decided that you wanted to rush. I'm like Big Worm on Friday, "Its PRINCIPLE of the whole thing, Principality!!!!!" Slow and stead wins the race and and doesn't end up looking like a chicken or like you just stuck your finger in a socket!:p

I air dry or blowdry on cold and then iron in small sections. Takes about 4 hours.

Yeah, most of us are including the blowout time with flatironing.

It takes me over an hour, that's why I rarely ever flat iron. I have been roller setting since joining the board and it is working out pretty good.

If I include the blowout time then my time is 40-45 mins
