Hi ladies, my hair is mid back length and takes hours to wash and style. I just wanted to find out how long it takes some of you. Could you please answer the sections below, similarly to how I have.

Hair type: 4a/b texlaxed
Detangle and Pre-poo: 20 minutes
Washing and Conditioning:1 hour
Detangling: 10 minutes
Rollersetting: 2 hours
Hooded Dryer: 2 hours
Flatironing roots: 30 minutes
TOTAL: 6 HOURS!!!

You don't want to know how long it takes to relax and colour, I normally relax in 2 halves aswell, as you can see, I hate the time consuming nature of washing my hair!!

Hey chick,

Well here is my deal:
Hair Type: 3b/c (33 weeks transitionig) Shoulder length (growing out layers)
Detangle and Pre poo: I detangle in the shower with con (and pre poo 10 mins)
Washing and Con: 15mins to wash ( I don't like to leave the shampoo in too long! I then put con in for the remainder of my shower wich is like 10 mins)
To dry: I usually just add my favorite leave ins and pull my hair back into a low pony tail to dry under my scarf.
So I guess it takes me 35 minutes @ the most!

This is just an estimate, I'll time it properly next time I wash my hair!

Hair type: 3b/c transitioning
Washing and conditioning: 20 mins
(sometimes) Deep conditioning: 1 hour
Drying in towel: 45 mins
Airdrying: 2 hours
Blowdrying: 45 mins
Flat ironing: 30 minutes

Okay,

I do this twice a week. I'm relaxed/ texturized.

1) I brush my hair while it's dry to detangle: 2 minutes

2) Shampoo: 3 minutes, tops.

3) Conditioner: (shower) 5 minutes after towel drying my hair a bit.

4) Deep cond: (1x per week) 25 minutes.

5) Rollerset: 20 minutes

6) Bonnet dryer: 1 1/2 hours

7) Domenican blowout: 20 minutes

8) Flat iron roots (when neccesary) 20 minutes

So, three hours total. If you divide that by seven days, it's only about 26 minutes a day. I used to blowdry every day and it used to take me about 45 minutes to an hour!

Hair type: 4a relaxed
Washing and conditioning: 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on time for conditioning
Roller setting: 30 mins
Hooded Dryer: 2 hours

OR

Washing and conditioning: 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on time for conditioning
Blow Drying: 20 mins
Flat Ironing: 30 minutes

OP, why does your roller set take 2 hours:eek: ? I can understand the other parts, but setting seems to take up a lot of your time.

Saturdays: Big Wash Day

Pre-poo 30 mins

Shampoo 5 mins

Protein for 10mins.

Moisture for 10 mins.

Styling/Leave-In Application: 10-15 mins (I usually air dry...blow drying takes 20-35 mins...rollersets take 1.45 mins to 2 hrs).

Shampooing, deep conditioning, rollersetting, drying, flat ironing roots, wrapping= nearly 3 hours (rarely do this).

Daily/Semi-Daily Maintenance:

Shampoo: 3 mins

Hot Oil Treatment: 5 mins

CW or Conditioner after Shampoo & Hot Oil: 5 mins

Rinsing/Leave-In Application/Styling: 10 mins

Morning styling: no combing-add a serum or oil to ends, mist w/water, bun with Good Day Hair Pins= 5 mins or less.

Its because Im texlaxed, my hair basically matts together when it's wet. When it was bone straight, it used to take me about an hour. I'm trying to move quicker but also be patient at the same time otherwise this leads to breakage.

Amla pre-poo = overnight (7-8 hours)

Detangling = 5mins

it takes me about 15mins to rinse and shampoo ( i rinse with plain water for ages, as this detangles my hair even more and releases dirt better so i dnt have 2 use much shampoo)

squeeze and dab with soft towel to damp = 5mins

5mins to condition

3 mins to add mositurizor

1 min to put in a pony and add baggie

all day to airdry

next day remoive baggy

20mins to completely dry off

5mins to section into 8 and grease ends and re-growth

10 mins to platt and twist n clip

1 min 2 add durag

and VOILA! in the morn i just take down and its curly time

I hope I answered these correctly. This is when I wash/condition/rollerset and airdry overnight.

I don't see why some people take so much time to detangle...all you do is run the comb through and get out the knots and stuff....I thought you do that in the shower...?!? I detangle while I'm rinsing out conditioner and the water runs through it...am I doing something wrong?

good question!!

It takes me 1/2 hour to prepoo with the coconut milk
1/2 hour to wash and condition.
15 minutes to detangle and cornrow my hair into four big rows for my braid out.
30 if my hair is super tangled.
2 hours to dry under my hooded on the cool setting.

3hours and 45 minutes.:)

my hair is short
I wash 20 min. Shampoo 2x
condition 20 min. Apply with or without heat
apply leave ins to entire head and section hair. 10 min
blow dry 30-45 min
flat iron 30-45 min
wrap 2-3 mins

Add 10-30 mins for extra deep conditioning or protein treatments.

Hair type: 3b/c natural

Detangle and Pre-poo: I don't detangle before or pre-poo. (I only comb my hair once a week.) I consider my twice daily oiling and leave-in conditioning enough as a "pre-poo".

Washing and putting Deep Conditioner in it: 10 minutes

Deep conditioning: I put a plastic cap on it and a towel and keep it for about 45 minutes

Detangling: detangling with conditioner/deep conditioner in it about 5 minutes

Putting hair products in it: 2 minutes

Air drying: hours and hours... :D

I guess my hair washing process isn't so time consuming. I dread it anyway, I keep putting it off...

I wash once a week.
