How long does it usually take for relaxer burns to heal?

I got a relaxer over a week ago at a salon, but still have scabs around my edges from the relaxer, which the stylist left on for too long.

I've been applying leave-in conditioner and Jamaican Black Castor Oil to my edges, but the scabs are still there. Does anyone know how long the healing time usually is?

Does your hair like aloe vera? That’s good for burns. Sorry I don’t know the answer to the other question.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I also suggest trying tea tree oil and washing the hair again, preferably with a shampoo or cleanser that isn't harsh on the scalp.

And most importantly, get a new stylist.

Sorry to hear that, I really don't know what you can put on the scabs but give it time to heal. I don't let stylist do my relaxers, I didn't have good experience with them. The times I did get scalp burns, the relaxer were too strong.

Should you use tea tree oil would that not give you a burning sensation on your scalp on an open sore, i would have though camomile lotion is better for burns.

The OP did say she had scabs and not open sores, which suggests the healing process has already started. Tea tree should provide more of a cooling than burning sensation on the scalp, but yes, if it burns the OP I would definitely recommend using an alternative solution.

Yeah i understand that, but its really for anyone else out there as this is an old thread, some people may pick it and open it back up which is why i wouldn't put tea tree on it camomile is good for burns though so maybe try that instead.

I'm so glad I never have to deal with that again. That said, essential oil of lavender and vitamin e pills punctured are good for those type of burns. I prefer the lavender because it isn't gooey.
