How in the world are you wearing your hair on a daily basis?

Becaue I'm tired of wearing mine pinned back. It is so boring, I feel so unfeminine, so blah with my hair like this. I live in NYC so I'm surrounded by glamour girls with both long and short hair with their hair looking fly. Sometime I wander if this is really worth it, I know it is buut on my quest to longer hair shouldn't I be enjoying my hair in the process. For the most part my hair just doesn't look how i want it to look. How are you ladies finding it?

I find it quite easy! I wear a variety of style which in my opinion are cute and do not compromise the health of my hair. I love braidouts, Twistouts, phony ponies, cornrows and braids...this just some of the many styles that I wear daily.

It's okay to enjoy your hair. Some people on here still retain length while wearing their hair out daily.

Buns do get boring but you could spice it up a bit by wearing phony ponies (as Alli suggested). You can curl them any way you like. Also you could wear some satin scarves (like the ones you see in the stores that show it as a belt, head scarf, neck scarf, etc) or bra-strap headbands to add a little something to the bun.

You don't have to wear a bun, it's just that many people have had a lot of success when constantly wearing a bun. I find that wearing nice earrings and a nice satin scarf makes me feel prettier when I wear a bun. It can be as feminine as you want it to be ... trust me.

Girl u not alone i feel the same way specially in new york all my connects complain they tired of my scarves they think i m going bald and they keep telling me i better be ready summer/sept for the stage. They think i m letting myself go and always hiding the hair most people think i have no hair i dont say nutting i say to myself i m leave my hair in a baggy for the whole year so it s like my first update was july aug sept, then the 2nd one will be jan 1 for oct nov dec,(It will be 6months) then the 3rd jan feb march, 4th update april may june, then i m ready for photo shoots and stage ahahhah im so crazy so i dont care no studio time requires that i let my hair out the only out hairstyle i allow for now is cornrows cornrows and more conrows. i m so tired of shower caps u have no idea i be good this summer then dec 31,2006 will mark a year and half and i should have reached my waistlength goal then my hair will always be out no more hiding so its true there is temptation to let it all out when i see all my friends swinging their hair but hey i can hold till the summer comes its cold anyway :p

Girl I feel u...I constantly feel that way all the time and by the way I live in NyC too...so i can relate perfectly with what you said about being "surrounded by glamour girls with both long and short hair" (well for me it's mostly long) every single day...I look at this as a mission...I came here to achieve a certain goal and if that means no fun for this time being...then so be it...honey there are often times where I just wanna give up and call it quits...but then I realized What good would that do me?...my hair would be jacked up, with no length and Would that be a sacrifice I'm willing to make all b/c i'm bored with a certain hairstyle? I think not...I know for sure that once I reach my first hair goal of brastrap length...I will be wearing my hair out more often for all to see...just don't give up girl wearing your hair up is definitely worth it and at the end the final results will prove that.:)

Are we ---------->here<-------------? I'm wearing my boring bun and I'm too sick of it. I have to resist the urge to go the salon and get hooked up. I work at a University and the girls runnin around here always have their hair down and fixed up. I want my hair done too but my ends are in the best health they have ever been and my hair is getting long so I figure for another year or two, I'll live with it.

You'll get through it and then soon you'll be SWANGIN AND BANGIN!

Variety is key, I couldnt wear my hair the same way all the time!
I wear braidouts, buns, phony ponies and every now and then I wear it down with a side part.

girl, u are NOT alone! i am SO sick of my bun,and what's worse, i can't seem to make it look cute, probably because I wear it the EXACT same way! i haven't had a part in my hair in MONTHS! it's so sad... it makes me look terrible, like i'm a boy or something :( i mean, i really dont think it's cute at all :nono:

i cannot WAIT till my touch-up in 3 weeks. From then on, I will start enjoying my hair more. I will do more rollersets so that I can wear it out, and I dont wan to airdry all the time, It makes my hair hard to manage and when it's hard ot manage, what do i do? put it into a boring ponytail, unbunned, ugly, etc. We really SHOULD enjoy our hair, shoo, with everything we're doing to it. Once I get my touchup, i will still watch my ends but i'm going to wear my hair out when I feel like it, or just a cute ponytail with the tail out, not too often of course, but enough not to feel like my hair care journey is like a jail... u know?
