I don't think braids during your ENTIRE transition is a good idea, you should learn how to care for your new growth before you BC and you wont be able to do that in braids.

We are about the same days post, almost exact. Moisture so far has been key for me. I attempted to transiton before and failed because it was too much work. This time around it's not as rough for me as last and the only thing I can contribute that too is having stepped up my moisture game.

Braids seem fine, there helping me with my transition . I plan to use braids for a year or more also to help me get through my transition. I just got my hair in box braids today. When I take my hair out of the braids, I usually leave it out 2 weeks before I put a new set in. During that period I wear my hair in a bun. I'm only about 13 weeks into my transition.
