You pretty much take care of your hair the same as you would if you had a relaxer, i.e. regular shampooing, conditioning, MOISTURIZE. When combing it you may need to be a bit gentler because of the curlier texture--it can be more prone to tangles.
Yes, you can transition to texturizer, just go longer between touch-ups (I recommend at least 3-4 months), and use a mild relaxer and leave it on less than the usual time.
