10 minutes to stretch your fro? I was cruising YT and found this lovely lady doing a vlog on conair's hot rollers. She uses them to stretch her hair as opposed to leaving them on for a long time for an actual rollerset.

Stretching Natural Hair in 10 Minutes!

My thought was, dag... that WOULD be nice on the occassion I get a call to go out short notice and my 'fro is jacked...

Anyone try these? I'd like to know the temperature they are as my hair fries pretty low.

Anyone, natural or relaxed, use them before?

I have tried this with Caruso Curlers and it made my hair easier to braid without blow drying. I have a set of those hot curlers but I haven't used them to stretch my fro. I just might try that though.

Unfortunately, my curlers don't list the maximum temp, but they cool pretty quickly, from what I remember, I can't imagine that they cause much damage.

Thanks prettybyrd. It would just be a shame to pay for these rollers and have them damage all that hard work for growth in just 1 or 2 uses!

Anyone else use hot rollers to stretch hair??

they don't get hot like that at all. you can use them maybe a couple of times a week at the max. but they aren't damaging at all. nothing like a curling iron.

Ohhh! Thank you shortdub78! My fine hair is ridiculously fragile. It can take a medium heat blow dry with comb attachment. But try to touch it with an iron? Noooooooooooo!

I was worried they would get hot similar to plug in irons...

runs to buy hot rollers :cowgirl:
Thanks for sharing!
 They are going on my wish list.

i remember trying steam rollers and I came out with a reverted mess (natural then too). Coulda just left it in a fro! That kinda scared me away from heated rollers too.

I wish i had seen this thread before, i just came in from the BSS and got me a new blowdryer which i was very hesitant to buy because i'm in the hardcore no heat challenge for 2013. I may buy it none the less and use it when the challenge is over.

Oh snap, I have two sets of flocked rollers that I used to use on my lace wigs :scratchch I need to check out that YouTube.

I wish I would've seen this thread before I bought an electric pressing comb! I'd have to blow dry on high heat if I wanted it to last more than a day. Maybe the hot curlers will last longer without the heat damage.

The reversion is more a product issue. I know mixed chicks is despised in some circles :look: but their straightening Serum really keeps it straight longer.

Hmmm..when I get these rollers will def try with that serum...
