Black hair needs (let me emphasize it again) needs moisture. It is ok to wash or co wash ( wash only with conditioner) it more than 1x a week. A good water based moisturizer is key after you apply it to the hair concentrating on the end seal ( apply a little oil like castor oil, Jojoba oil, Olive oil or Organic virgin cocontut oil) the moisture. stretch the time between relaxers ( I relax every 6 months), every 4 weeks is abuse. The key is protective styling ( loose buns, braid outs, and twists or braids) the protect the ends and keep them from rubbing against clothes which causes breakage. At night wrap hair in a 100% real silk or satin scarf or bonnet when using a flat iron please use a heat protectant.
