Two BIG, HUGE, MEGA hits this month:
  • Auburey Organics White Camellia Ultra Smoothing Conditioner - I used this after the Redken's Butter Treat left my hair a dry, tangled mess. This left my hair ultra soft with tons of slip. No need to detangle after using this. $7.80 @ Vitamin Shoppe.
  • Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist - All I can say is WOW! This can be used daily and I have been using it every couple of days on dry and wet hair. ths good thing is this comes in sample sizes if you want to try it out before spending a lot of money. $6.95 for 8.5 oz and $3.95 for sample size.
Miss:
  • Redken's Smooth Down Butter Treat - worked a couple months ago but made my hair so dry and tangled that I had to rewash and condition. Ick!

Did you use it as a deep conditioner or as a rinse out?

Hits:

Salerm21

I tried this again after trying NTM leave-in and Lacio Lacio neither one of these made my hair soft like Salerm21. This will be my staple leave-in.

I'd already deep conditioned with that icky Redken Smooth Down and I had to rewash to get that mess outta my hair. After I shamppoed once I applied the White Camellia conditioner. I left it in maybe 3 mins while I finshed my shower. I didn't even need my jibere shower comb, that's how much slip I got. I'm almost 8 weeks post touch up and I was so shocked that I didn't have to detangle. I air dried in a bun and my hair is still soft and smooth. I think I'm in love.

I will definitely look into this as a rinse out. Thanks :)

I have to say I used to be Redken Smooth down's BIGGEST supporter for at least a year UNTIL I tried to use it this weekend. It left my hair a tangled mess. My hair hated it. I had to use Keracare Humecto to give it slip. I will NOT be using this again!

Oooo I forgot another big hit for me:

Natural Instincts in Neutral Black - I wanted to color my relaxed hair but was afraid of damage. After consulting our LHCF color expert Tracy decided to give this color a try. This is a demi permenant color (supposed to wash out in 28 poos). It gets a big thumbs up from me. Very easy to use, color looked the way it was supposed to. My hair was a little dry on the rinse out but I used Motions Silk Protein right after and my hair has been fine since. Love the deep color and shine. What I like even more is none of that messy residue that semi perms sometimes leave.

ok i finally can come up with my hits and misses....

hits:

ultra max by surge--i bought it so my scalp wont get flaky while using surge revitalizer 14....i dont use it on the length of my hair...no scalp dryness using it...its supposed to be a scalp stimulant too

dove conditioner for dry/damaged hair....pretty good...although!! the fragrance in it burned my skin the first few days...i adjusted tho...its makes big loopy curls if i put a gang on each section

suave citrus smoothie conditioner--my hair likes citrus...this pretty good

suave juicy green apple conditoner--using this with the dove conditioner in a conditoner wash for the curly girl method...my hair was bouncy and swingy...i dont know if i can find this flavor again so imma try not to use it up real fast

misses!!

rite aid vitamin e gel--had a lot of aloe vera...(allergic) i couldnt take it any more after a few days...my hands were on fire...wasnt all that hot on my hair either....i had alot of frizz stilll...hmmm

herbal essences conditioner papaya and mango--(got this at the dollar tree..dont even know if they still make it)crazy filmy, goopy crap all over my hair....maybe i used too much

i aint sure about this...

bbd glass curling creme--order from hairballers ii....bad customer service..but i finally got it...its not like curly pudding for me...its gonna take me forever to finish it off...if u use more than a tablespoon even if that much on wet hair the crap never soaks in...i dont like that..the texture is crazy too..although i do like walkin around smellin like yellow cake mix lol....i didnt get any better curls using it...no major shine...im gonna try to get my hands on bbd stretch creme to see if it works better with that for me

More Hits for me
Surge Ultra Max I was sleeping on this product
Alterna Volumizing Leave In Conditiner for fine hair-found this 75% off reg price $16.50 I paid $4.10 it really improves my fine strands.

Miss
Orig Mane & Tail Conditioner.

Thank you - after reading this thread I bought a bone comb on ebay from hairsense. I've been using plastic combs my entire life. I was just looking at the seams inside the teeth on my plastic comb that must be ripping my hair and contributing to my split ends.

:scratchch I have never seen Surge Ultra Maxx in stores. I still see the same selection of products so I dont believe they order any new items from Surge.

I have never done a hit or miss before....The hits for me were products I rediscovered. I tried everything to keep my hair moisturized...distilled water and evoo, elasta qp recovery, nexxus humectress....nothing seemed to move it..but then I took some distilled water some lacio lacio and some serum...good gravy that was all it took....hair was behaving...I was like why did I try other things....I should have stayed with this combo...

A miss for me was daily condition washing...dont know if its the water...cant say that it is because I have washed my hair before and never had much problems...but who knows maybe water can change...but the hair was always rough and dry no matter what I did...even products I used before but spaced out in time didnt seem to be doing too well....so I stopped and used the combo above and hair is soooft again..

Another miss is mane and tail....I tried to give it a chance about 3 times....each time my hair felt rough....I used it for condtion wash, I used it for regular wash, I followed up with moisturizing conditioner...it never would work well for me....whenever I read it made people's hair soft and silky I am like what the hell is wrong with my hair???? maybe my hair cant take too much protein....btw what type of protein is in mane and tail??????? God bless you all.
