I know there's no other option for me other than Wash n gos, puffs and a few updos...Maybe I'll try some cornrows in the from and let it out in the back...What's everyone else up to?!

PS Sorry I was gone for a while...I'm baaaack (and updated the fotki):grin:

If this sew in works good for me, then I'll be spending the majority of my time with that. I need to give my hair a break from me doing it all the time, plus I know that it helps with length retention.

i'm just doing my same ole WnGs n puffs... tryin to keep it simple... it's way to hot in Mis'sippi to try in do intricate styles when i know by mid summer i'll be showering twice a day! and twists and braids usually slip rite out when i wash too much

i'm more worried about this sun litening up my hair! I promise some of my ends are d*mn near blonde already! is there a leave in w/spf? or shud i even be worried about it?

I'm puttin in some box braids soon!

cant wait to not have to deal with my hair for a while
and have some 'swangin' braids

I feel you on that! I like really dark hair on myself and it getting lighter every day...
I'm in the south too so it is soooo hot already!!!!

This is a concern for me too. I hope someone has info. I don't want to go straw berry blond again this summer on my ends or rely on color totally.

i want yarn twists but i don't know if i can do them on myself (my sister's came out well). i also would like to try a sew-in again since i know how to care for my real hair underneath now.

if neither of those goes it will be twistouts, maybe a straw set or two, and more bunning, potentially on straightened hair if this sabino MB holds up.

I'm wearing these the ENTIRE summer:

Mini twist

I just don't feel like fooling w/ my hair as I travel all over visiting family...

This will be my low-maintence/effortless hairstyle

I dabbled with a strawset recently to take a break from my braids and look cute for my 21st birthday. I really like it and it lasted about 3 weeks.

Its funny you posted this thread because I have definitely been wondering what I was going to do with my hair this summer. I have decided to stay on my personal growth mission and stay away from direct flat iron heat. (besides it's too hot outside to straighten my hair anyway)

Strawset one month, box braids, the next. and a few braidouts here and there when I feel lazy.

Buns and other updos. I can't stand hair touching my neck or face when it's hot outside and it's been in the 90s this past week already.

once I get out dem braids I will go back to my daily or every other day cowashing and just wear wng puffs.

I may attempt to learn to do kinky twists in my own hair.

I guess I'll so wash n' go's....maybe some twist outs when I want more length. I think I've gotten a little rusty at my wng's, lol. I haven't done one since last summer.

I'm going to do my usual wash and goes but I want to play more with accessories to try to get different styles. Still too short to put in a bun

^^^tetbelle, your hair is so cool! i love the different textures (although i'm sure it prolly drives you nuts :look: ).

i am not happy with the shape of my hair since my cut. :perplexed so prolly no WnGs unless i put it in a puff. i think i will do more braid-outs, and perhaps if i can get my hair cornrowed up a few times.

My latest hair disaster has prompted me to revisit this question too!!

I will be braiding the front (I'll go in to get that done) and twisting the back.

Today I'm in a rollerset, but it took all of my willpower to stay under that hot Pibbs last night.

Most of the summer I'll probably be wearing wash'n'gos and braidouts, but I want to get some senegalese twists for a while too. I'm tired of all this manipulation and I'm eager for my hair to get to the next length goal.

This week I'm wearing a puff. I plan to get a sew-in by weekend to give my hair a much needed break from manipulation.

Hey Brock! Love you hurr:grin:

I'm in braided extensions since I'm going on vacation this week. After 8 weeks or so, I'll be sticking to my co-washing.

I have my graduation in a few weeks so I'll be straightening! I'd rather not, but this big ol' hair cant fit under the cap:lachen:

wash n gos, puffs, buns, ponytails. I thought I'd be braiding my hair for the summer, but after thinking about how long it would take to wash and dry some braids...I thought against it. So I'm co-washing every/every other day until around...Sept/Oct. when the weather starts to cool down some. That's about 3/4 months so I should have a nice surprise when I decide to straighten it again.

Not completely natural, but transitioning from texlax. I'm going to try cornrows. If they're cute I'll get them redone every few weeks. I like the look of twists, but I also like to co-wash frequently (frizz) and I'm afraid of matting or dreading at the base. Individuals take FOREVER and then they were super heavy too.

If the cornrows don't work I'm just gonna bun it probably - it's too hot in AZ to mess with flat irons and what not!

For the ladies worried about the color change - I remember reading somewhere the coconut oil had some SPF properties...google it. I know there are SPF leave-ins but they tend to be kind of expensive.

I will be getting Kinky twists and co washing every other day to keep my hair moisturized underneath. I will also do braidouts from time to time. :yep:

I'm considering cornrows - I just need to learn how to do them! :lachen: But yeah, I don't think the two strand twists are going to work with me having to wash my hair at least twice a week.... I dunno.

See my problem with the dang wash and gos is my hair becomes a tangled mess. When I comb it in the shower with conditoner I have all this hair in my hands. Its making me cry!!! And my goal was to stop rocking these pony tails!
So ill work it out. some way some how.

wash n gos puffs, ponytails, flat twist out, and cornrow braid out. Maybe some rollersets when i want to change it up..
