So I henna(ed) my moms hair, if you can't tell from the title, lol. First of all, it was in block form and I had a real issue breaking it into little pieces. I have no idea where she got it from or how she even knows about henna, but its called lush. She's vegan, and got it from some natural store, along with some soaps n shampoo. It was supposed to turn her hair brown..because she doesn't want to use "chemicals"...so i'm guessing they used some natural ingredients to make it that way? *shrug* It was 22 dollars.
I had absolutely no idea what to do with that enormous block. So I put it in a bag and beat it.
Thats when my mom first started looking like...
I freestyled the water amount, added the henna, honey, evoo, and conditioner. It came out looking like this.
erplexed I know, right?
I added more conditioner to get it reaaaaaallllly smooth. Then I turned and looked at my moms head. Her hair is kinda an auburn reddish color from her last dye job...in I got a lil concerned as to how the henna would take.
Close up of the roots:
So then I started. Slathering away, like a madman. I had noooooo idea you were supposed to move fast so it would stay "yogurt-y"...and didn't suran wrap in time. She walked around like this for three hours.
Like gumby, lmbo.
So then I washed it out, conditioned, dc'ed.....all that jazz.
Her hair texture...I'm pretty sure she's a silky 3b/3c mix, and the color took pretty good.
Her hair blowdried:
And I began straightening.
Half-way done:
Finished!
Glamor shots
Her grays are kinda a dark goldy color. Like highlights. Next time, I think she'll sleep in it so it can take a little more.
