So I henna(ed) my moms hair, if you can't tell from the title, lol. First of all, it was in block form and I had a real issue breaking it into little pieces. I have no idea where she got it from or how she even knows about henna, but its called lush. She's vegan, and got it from some natural store, along with some soaps n shampoo. It was supposed to turn her hair brown..because she doesn't want to use "chemicals"...so i'm guessing they used some natural ingredients to make it that way? *shrug* It was 22 dollars.

I had absolutely no idea what to do with that enormous block. So I put it in a bag and beat it. :lachen: Thats when my mom first started looking like...:look:

I freestyled the water amount, added the henna, honey, evoo, and conditioner. It came out looking like this.

:perplexed I know, right?

I added more conditioner to get it reaaaaaallllly smooth. Then I turned and looked at my moms head. Her hair is kinda an auburn reddish color from her last dye job...in I got a lil concerned as to how the henna would take.

So then I started. Slathering away, like a madman. I had noooooo idea you were supposed to move fast so it would stay "yogurt-y"...and didn't suran wrap in time. She walked around like this for three hours. :look:

Like gumby, lmbo.

So then I washed it out, conditioned, dc'ed.....all that jazz.
Her hair texture...I'm pretty sure she's a silky 3b/3c mix, and the color took pretty good. :yep:

Her hair blowdried:

Her grays are kinda a dark goldy color. Like highlights. Next time, I think she'll sleep in it so it can take a little more.

Great job Lil sis..Your mom has pretty hair "very silky"......

Happy Hair Growing!

Lush is like one of my favorite stores. They have all natural beauty supply products. I had no idea they had henna. I'm going to have to make a visit.

Your mom's hair looks beautiful. I love the brown color that it got from the henna.

LOL funny you should mention that... :look:
I was thinkin..."Janet did say she was off this week...and she DOES live here..."

Girl...I don't know noffin bout no henna!! :lachen: :lachen: But now I know who to call if I eva need a treatment :giggle: Do you go to State?

It came out nice. I actually just tried their henna/indigo block and I'm impressed. The price is steep but comparable to what I pay online plus shipping.

What a good daughter you are. Imagine all of the times she did your hair, now you are doing hers. You and your mother are beautiful! I love her hair, you did a great job! Can you do mine? LOL!!!

Wow, it looks great! Your mom's hair is beautiful.
I have to find a Lush store around me. I've been hearing some good reviews about their products.
Side note: they called this color/product "brown poop"->"caca brun" :look:

I noticed that. I was seriously hoping it was lost in translation.

Great job! Your mother's hair is beautiful. I wish I could convince my mom to let me do a henna treatment.:ohwell:

Very nice! I've used Caca Brun from Lush too once. It gives a very nice color, even if the clay like consistency is too much for me.
Your mother's hair is beautiful!!:)
