Okay, so when I place my order (thru hennaforhair.com), what exactly am I getting? Indigo and henna? Are these not the same thing? I'm so befuddled but I really need to know before I make this purchase.
I wouldn't mind if my hair color changed. I'm interested in a deep auburn color and of course I want the strength and thickness. I see folks using all this other stuff with the henna but I'm like.....okay.

I hope I included all the info you need to assist me.

Oh and if I sound stupid, you can smack me later.

Since you want an auburn like color - get henna. Indigo is black. Also some people order cassia - conditioning w/out the color.

Thanks for the quick response.
Okay so just get henna and that's it? I can add everything else when I'm preppin?

That's it. You add water for the basic. Add some oils or conditioner if you like. Some people add lemon juice as a terp (for releasing the color). Do you have a local Indian grocery store wehre you can pick up oils or henna (much cheaper, too)?

You know, when I went to grocery store, they didn't have any. I wash shocked. So I guess this is my only other alternative. It's all good though.

Thanks JLove74:kiss:

I would advise against adding any lemon juice as it can be very drying. For the first time you might want to just stick with henna, water and maybe a little oil.:)

According to my Indian co-worker, she says the Rajashan henna is better, giving you a deeper red. This is what she uses. Jamila is good, too she said.

Hmmmm.....I may just order that one next time. :D

All of my questions concerning henna were answered. Thanks for all the info. ladies. :)

Please don't use ACV or lemon juice with your henna. I did that the first time and my hair was very dry. It took several DC treatments to soften up.

I now use Jamila henna and yogurt and it is wonderful. The last time I ordered henna they sent me a sample of Rajashan henna and I like that even more. When I use all my Jamila I will order the Rajashan.;)
