Hi guys! Went to the beach today and my kid has major sand in her hair hair. Any tips on how I can get it out? Please help!

Shampoo it out. Just keep lathering and rinsing until it is all out. Be sure to deep condition afterwards

I guess cowashing would be less harsh on her hair, but it might take longer. Good luck :)

A clarifying shampoo and go through with a tooth brush to check for any remaining sand.

Thanks Everyone! I initially was reading articles that warned not to wet the hair, but that didn't seem right so I just had to come here and ask...

I don't own any shampoo, but I was able to co-wash her hair with Vo5 conditioner. It has a good lather and it was able to remove most of the sand. I will definitely co-wash again in a couple of days to make sure the rest is removed completely. Thanks again guys!

Very late but...a dry shampoo or even baby powder can help shake the sand out - for future reference. Anything wet causes the sand to stick more. But also, I just wash my hair as per normal when I get sand in my hair.

I just stand under the shower and massage my scalp til its all out

For future reference you could:

Step 1 = step outside, bend at the waist and vigorously shake dry hair while finger fluffing
Step 2 = dunk hair in a tub full of water (kids love it)
Step 3 = wash as you normally would
