HELP! Itchy/Dry patch causing hair to break

Is someone or did someone also go through this?

There is a patch towards the back of my head on the left side that periodically itches like crazy and is drier than the rest of my head. This coincidently is the same patch with the most hair breakage, is weak and thin and dry as wool.
I also noticed that when I DC, with a plastic cap under the dryer, it itches really bad during DC
This has been going on for about a 1+ years
What could be the problem. Could it be medical?

Dermatitis can have similar symptoms. You may want to go let a dermatologist look at it. If you've had a major weather change that may have something to do with it as well.
