The last 4 weeks, I have been using Cheleating Shampoos (Joico or Pureology) and DCing weekly. I have used Infusium before i roller set and iwhen dry flat ironing my roots. My hair actually feels less dry this week better conditioned, and im attributing that to using Joico Reconstructor and Hydrator Condish. But I dont seem to have any shine. Im trying to figure out is it the shampoos? I have switched conditoners the last 3 weeks so i dont think its that. Can i get some suggestions on what could be the problem and how to get my shine back.

I can't exactly say what may be causing this, but here are a couple of senarios, one, You may need to seal Your cuticles, to get them to lay down, and this will automatically reflect light as to give You some shine, another suggestion, is to try adding honey to Your DC or even as a Pre-Poo, it is a natural humectant which also give You Great shine! HTH!

I will definately give the honey a try this weekend, is there a particular brand of honey i should get, and should it be organic?

A lot of the Ladies says it really doesn't matter, they have gotten the same results with all, I also meant to add that some use it straight, I Myself would mix it with Oils or Conditioner, but in any case, it has very good benefits for Hair Health, here is more information for You, heres an Archived Thread from here and sites with some benefits:

You may have product build up on your hair. That coupled with hard water can cause the hair to be coated and dull. Sometimes what may help is to use 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar dissolved in one gallon of warm water. If you have hard water, water with lots minerals, boil the water first, let it cool, then use it.

Do your vinegar rinse as a prepoo. Swish your head in a bowl of the mixture until all the build up is stripped off. This can be drying. Then proceed with a simple moisturizing shampoo, a moisturing conditioner and if your hair likes protein, a moisturing protein conditioner.

Why are you using a chelating shampoo so often? Unless you have SERIOUS build up or really hard water, this may be the problem. Chelating shampoos raise your cuticles, which makes your hair dull. Try a moisturizing poo and add Porosity Control to close your cuticles.

I agree w/ the bolded. I save my seltzer water bottles, and I put my boiled water in them. I find that it does help w/ shine b/c of the temperature. Room temperature works best for my hair in terms of washing it.
