HELP - HAIR FALLING OUT!

Hi I'm new to this forum and would appreciate anyone who could help.

I had medium/long hair of an average thickness but I got a bad perm 8 weeks ago and its been falling out from the root! My hair is ridiculously thin now and is shedding more than ever now that I need a perm. My question to you all is do I:

get a perm this weekend and cut it for some thickness and start a serious hair care treatment ASAP (supplements, castor oil, protein treatments, etc.)

OR

wait another week and get a protein treatment this weekend

I am scared to get a relaxer this weekend as I am afraid it will all fall out but at this point I don't know what to do!

Please help!

Hi. I am sorry that this is happening to you!:nono:
I advise against a relaxer because that is what caused your hair to fall out to start with. I think lots of deep conditioning and a hair cut might help at this point. Especially if it is coming out at the root. Make sure you are eating right and drinking water so that your new growth will come in healthy and thick. I hope the other ladies will chime in with more advice for you. Good luck with your hair!

I would advise against a relaxer as well. Not even a week from now, more like another month or so. Because a week isn't enough time to get your hair in any kind of condition for a touch-up if it's falling out.

Start vitamins and keeping the hair moisturized NOW.

What is your current regimen?

Agreed a relaxer would not be the best thing , if that had happened to me I would consider going back natural.. chemicals would never see me again

You need to baby your hair back to health , start some serious conditioning treatments, moisturize, take supplements .. but most of all leave it alone .. get a nice low manipulation style so you won't be constantly fussing up in it

Thanks everyone for your responses! I guess I will wait another 3 weeks! Does anyone know of any relaxer alternatives that are not as damaging but will get my hair straight?
