You're hair's so pretty!

If you like the layered look when it's curled, try getting long layers cut in it (I just did). And have them follow the naturally growing shape of your hair. That way you won't lose the length, but you can neaten it up a little and make it look as though you meant to do that. And when your hair grows back, evenly or unevenly, I bet it'll still look great.

Your hair is GORGEOUS!!! But yea I think you should probably even it up, I agree with Brazen that you should get layers cut, that would look really nice

I would definitely even it up. That's what I did to mine a couple days ago...chopped off 2 inches. My hair likes to grow in a "W" shape which I utterly despise. I love the look of a blunt cut, so that's where I'm at.

I guess I'm the only one that says don't even it up. It looks as if this is just the way your hair grows. It looks like it's trying to form the "V".

No, I'm with you...don't cut! That's how your hair grows...it may not look the best, but if you keep cutting it's just going to take you longer to get to brastrap. Let it grow how it does and trim it up to keep it even after you get to your desired length. A lot of people have hair that grow kinda crazy like that, it's not all that abnormal. As long as the ends are healthy, I say don't cut.

I agree with the others. Your hair is very pretty, and so are you.

Your ends don't look that bad to me. They look a little thin, but they are not that bad.

Your hair is beautiful, so it seems that you are doing all of the right things to keep it healthy.

Maybe it's time to modify your routine a wee-little bit.
I'm not sure how often you trim your ends so my advice could be wrong. You could have the kind of hair that likes to be trimmed more frequently.

I usually trim a smidge off every 3 to 5 months, it just depends on how my ends look. When I don't trim, I get those little knots at the ends of my natural hair, then my hair will snap off right before the knot. So instead of trimming off a bunch of knotted hair at once, I do tiny little trims 2-6 times a year (I trim when I need to).

I know that there are a lot of ladies on this board who are against trims, but maybe your ends will look better if you trimmed a tiny bit every 3-5 months, instead of one big angry trim when your ends get thin.

Think about it like this:
January - Grow 1/2"
Febuary - Grow 1/2"
March - Grow 1/2"
April - Trim 1/4" of an inch
May - Grow 1/2"
June - Grow 1/2"
July - Grow 1/2"
August - Trim 1/4" of an inch
September - Grow 1/2"
October- Grow 1/2"
November- Grow 1/2"
December - Trim 1/4" of an inch
---------------------------
6" (of growth) - .3/4" (of trims) = 5 1/4" of hair growth a year.

Co signing with Afashionslave. My daughter's hair love mini-trim's as well. You never miss the length. It's still growing down her back.

***insert a smiley having a break down here*** I am sooo upset

Yes, I do grow a "V" and that doesn't bother me as much as the thiness. I What am I doing wrong? I moisturize ***but I have been wearing an airdried pony for the last month***but even still, it happened before the ponytail incident. When I approach brastrap, it gets all stunt man crazy on me

FS, I will DEFINATELY start back mini-trimming. I don't remember this much frustration.
Thanks ladies :) ...

What raggedy look? I must be missing something because your hair looks gorgeous to me! :D Well, if you do decide to trim it, I'm sure it will still look very nice. Like the pic where you just got a trim. And if they're really unhealthy or splitting then I say yes go ahead and trim the ends.

I don't see anything wrong. One thing you have to remember, you will always have uneven hair. So, I say let it fly with wind!!!!

I would as a hairdresser to cut them but after looking at photos I say no you have no damage, so keep doing what you have been doing and see after 6-8 weeks of new growth looks like.

Audra:

DON'T DO IT! I went through the same thing. It's finally thicekening up now, but if i had cut I would have had to keep cutting the same inch and a half. Give the ends (and the ends above then) some TLC. It's just a hurdle.

PS: Your hair is gorgeous!

-A :)

I don't like a "raggedy" look to my hair at all. I would cut them. If you don't want to cut them all at once, cut 1/2 inch at a time, and wear protective styles, for thoes ends. I would trim the 1/2 every month in a half, till it looked okay if you opt to go that route. Otherwise, hair just like nails and everything else, will grow back. I would just go for it, and cut the hair that's needed at one time.

well, what is you ultimate goal? If I were in your postition I would trim the ends because I like them to look uniform. and don't worry about it, you already have a lot of hair on your head.

I OFFICIALLY HATE MY HAIR!! I took off 1.5 - 2.5 inches all the way around depending on the area. Who knows when I'll see brastrap  :cry2: :cry2:

Relax.
I know that it may seem like a big deal, but it really isn't.
Your hair looks great.

Audra, your hair is still pretty and long. I know it was hard to trim those ends. But your hair is even and uniform. It won't take that many weeks until you come close to wear you were in terms of length.

**I was dealing with uneven ends a few weeks ago and finally one day said to myself " just do it". Now I am glad I did it and it does not bother me. The healthy condition itself makes it better.**

Once again, your hair is still pretty and long. You'll be back to brastrap sooner than you think.

I don't get it AudraC. Your hair is gorgeous ! ! ! ! :) :) If I might ask without being offensive what happened to your hair between August and September?  My 2 cents would be not to cut your hair the ends don't look damaged. Also, if I may ask have you had an illness of some sort or are fighting a disease and maybe even lost a lot of weight or worst you're STRESSED? These are things that cause breakage and thinning more often than not taking care of hair properly. I'm a diabetic and I have a hard time with keeping my hair healthy. Hair health comes from within, get a medical check up to be sure everything is operating properly, eat a healthy and balance diet I often see that a lot of the ladies here drink carrot juice, as do I this is an excellent for hair health. Relax and get some rest. Happy hair growing.

Well, I have been wearing my hair in an air-dried ponytail?? I, myself, have been trying to think of reasons why this happens, but I just can't. The front of my hair never grows even nearly as long and my "V" always come back with so much force! When it is styled it "looks" fine, it's not :(
