I'm sure you ladies from the US will be able to give us good advice.
We ladies from the UK are currently experiencing a heat wave. This is the first time in my hhj that I've had to question just how long I've had my hair exposed to the sun.

Help us please? What do we do? Remember we don't have the same 'on the shelf' product section as y'all.

Any tips would be appreciated.

I like Cowashing during the Heat and using a nice Creamy Moisturizer and plenty of Spritz.

I keep my Spritz in the Fridge for the extra cooling factor.

Moisture, Moisture, Moisture. Also a good time to use your lighter-weight oils.

Enjoy the Heat!

Shea butter is a great natural sunblock for the hair. You don't need a lot. I put it on as a finish.

Keratin!

Im from NY, just an ocean away. That sun is no joke. It burns your hair a bit, so you need to replenish what the sun is burning. I learned this the hard way last year and so what I did was start using keratin (mild though) weekly and it stopped the sun's damaging effect. This year, Im using Keratin monthly and Silk weekly (I roller set) and its helping. Moisturizing helps, but the sun is stripping the hair of its protein, so the only thing to do is replenish what the sun is taking.

Hope this helps.

Carrot seed oil has an SPF of 35-40 and I love it for my hair and skin in summer. I found some at a Middle Eastern grocery store.
