High Heat Temperatures=Spoiled Hair Products?

Hey ladies,

I usually keep my hair products in one of my bedroom closets. However, this past week we had a heatwave, so during the day while I'm at work my room was hot, probably 70-80 degrees, and the closets usually feels hotter.

Do you know if the heat affects hair products in warm/hot temperatures?

Probably, the issue is how much it effects them. Hopefully the maker of the products are getting them lab challenge tested before they sell to the public (challenge testing includes microbial testing as well as temperature testing), so I'd expect products I purchase to hold up through relatively normal high and low temps. But you have to be realistic, like if I have a water-free body butter sitting around it hot temps I'm going to expect a mess.

This is where properly preserved products have an advantage over the "all natural" craze.

Edited to add: I think 70-80 fahrenheit is normal. If you have something that's spoiling or separating without becoming normal after cooling, then that manufacturer isn't doing their job.

Natural Product user here.

I think you'd have more of a problem if you kept them in the Bathroom.

Most of the time they say store in a dark cool place. So, a Closet should be fine.

I would advise you to make sure the lids, tops are properly secured.

I don't think you would have any real problem unless there is a lack of preservatives in your hand-mades.

Most of the stuff I consider finicky, I usually store in the Fridge.

Thanks ladies. Most of my products are store-bought and the only 'natural' products I use are from Giovanni or Shea Moisture, so I should be good.
