Im not due for a relaxer yet but i want to start searching for what relaxer i'll use next. has anyone ever used it and how do you like it? Ive tried motions but it gives me underprocessed hair. Any opinions? I checked for the price online and it says its 4.99 for a 1lb jar....uh...isnt that a little too cheap?

My old stylist used to use this on my hair. I remember getting good results but my hair was always flat after, I would wash 3 days after just to give my hair some volume. I know now that this was because she relaxed me within an inch of my life then. I'd be interested in responses too. I currently use Motions Oil Moisture in Regular with no complaints.

I used Hawaiian Silky mild for two years, before I decided to transition. I liked it, because it allowed me to see what my natural hair would look like. I was texturizing and didn't even know it. I did use no-lye though; because I was always told that lye was bad...I didn't know any better then. The problem that I had with Hawaiian Silky no-lye it that it turned my hair a brownish red color(I won't include dryness, because all relaxers left my hair dry). I decided to eventually dye it and that’s when I begin experiencing scalp and hair problems, so I decided to grow my relaxer out. I've never used a permanent dye in my life...that's where I messed-up.

To explain my dye experience. I can laugh about it now, but I wasn't laughing then. I put a "natural" black dye in my hair thinking that it was going to look like my "natural" color(the color it was before). I was sooo tried of that brownish color, however, the natural black dye dyed my hair was blue black. OMG, I put my hat on my head and drove straight to Sally's and bought a brown hair dye(a light brown hair dye). I did wait until the next morning to re-dye...and it did fix the color, but my head was on fire. I knew that my head wasn't going to be able to take a relaxer even months later my head was still on fire. That's when I begin to transition. I did fail at my first transition, but the second time was a breeze.

So, I think that you should choose lye instead of no-lye, because no-lye turned my hair brown.

Hi!

I use Hawaiian Silky. It makes my hair feel a lot better than the no-lye relaxer that I use to use. My hair also feels stronger, but I do not relax it bone straight. I use the regular strength Lye (no-base) version.

I've never used Hawaiian Silky. I do use Soft & Beautiful No-Lye and it gives me great results. I don't leave the relaxer on my hair for the full amount of time.
