When I first started my hair journey (NL), I wanted to be BSL and stop there. Now, I've changed my mind and decided to shoot for MBL. Who knows? I may get there and want to go for WL. I also used to be texlaxed but now I'm natural.

Did you start off your hair journey with one goal or status in mind and throughout the weeks, months, or years changed it? If so, why?
 
Yes - my approach too. My initial goal was BSL - now it's MBL. My initial approach was grow grow grow and grow some more. Now, I'm growing, trimming, enjoying, growing some more.
 
My goal has changed for sure. When I first started I thought that WL was the longest I wanted to go. Now my goal is HL. I am pretty sure that this is as long as I will want to go, as my mom always says "anything longer than that starts to interfere with important bathroom functions :lachen:." I mean no offense to anyone with longer hair than that or those that want longer lengths. I think really, really long hair is absolutely stunning, it is just not for me (well at least I don't think it is; who knows how I will feel once I reach HL :lachen:).
 
Oh yeah most definitely, my change happened when I learned about SHRINKAGE!!! I used to want to be MBL, now I want WL.

Good point! When I wear a wash n' go my hair shrinks to SL. So I figure, if I can wear an APL or little past APL wash n' go, I would have to be MBL or so straightened.
 
I think I originally said BSL, but I know my goal is WL. if I ever got there and it kept growing I'd let it just to see how long it wants to get. So we'll see. My first goal is to actually get to APL in my transition
 
My goals haven't changed so much...my original goal was Relaxed WL. One day, I took a tape measure and tried to make a customized growth chart for myself. I promptly realized that even though I have more torso than legs, the distance between my neck and butt is not so much, because I'm short. :ohwell:
After that, I decided that WL is just not going to be enough hair for me, so Relaxed HL it is! :grin:
 
I wanted to be BSB natural not stretched. BUTTT even if I made it to floor length stretched my hair would still shrink up to my ears....*sad face*

Also I was just aiming for BSB! Now I am leaning towards MBL...maybe!

Now that that trial is over, I want MBL hair. Sporting a 2'' TWA right now, so I've got a looooong way to go! :) 22 more inches to be precise!

You'll be hitting SL quickly, and then on to greater lengths!

Lately I've been leaning more toward just wearing my hair in its curly state like you've described. I only flat iron or wash n' press for something like my B-Day, Wedding Anniversary, and at the end of the year to see my progress. Even though my wash n' go's are SL, it felt good to feel my hair on my shoulders and I wouldn't mind having it grow out, keep it curly, and have looong curly hair :yep:.
 
Cool! Do you ever think about how you would manage it (wash in braids? wear your hair up more often?)

I had a few goals but now I'm just at the point of just seeing what happens year after year...going with the flow. :yep:
 
I truely think MBL is my max length. I don't want to have so much hair that I can't be happy with it and so far it is okay I am Brascrap, buttttttttttt, MBL is only 3-4 inches from BSL length for me.

MBL full and healthy is my goal, I will keep it trimmed there. I made a promise to only cut back to one full length per year, to keep me behaved. :D
 
Yes, initially my long term goal was BSL. But Now I it's MBL. Also I initially just wanted long hair. But now my first priority is lush, healthy looking hair and length is a close second.
 
Yes, when I started my HHJ above EL I wanted full BSL, now I'm approaching APL and I want full MBL. I don't think I want WL, but, who knows.
