Well people paid money to go bow down to the Baphomet. Notice how the statue was unveiled.

Someone ought accidentally trip and spill their flask of holy water on and around it or inadvertently throw a scapular around its neck. Earth could open up under it in a sink hole and make it return to hell...but hell is all around us. We're still triumphant only because of Him. Lightening could bolt off of it and melt it into the shape of a cross or a submitted shape but that would be intolerant thoughts. Statue only represents what we've allowed ourselves to become with all the hatred, crime, greed, abortion, murder, prejudice, selfishness. Maybe it does represent society.
