are you proud of "that certain" thing you do, since being on this board....List your accomplishments.

Hi Nikki, /images/graemlins/wave.gif

I just had a look at your pictures; very nice hair!! Yay! /images/graemlins/clap.gif

O.k, there are a lot of things I'm proud of. I think starting to take vitamins has been one of the best things for me. I've been neglecting them lately /images/graemlins/blush.gif, but I will get back on track. The board has also helped me to stay focussed on haircare. Having this board to come to everyday and seeing all the inspirational heads here, has been the best thing for me. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I agree totally! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

This board has really changed my approach to, and understanding of black hair. I have learnt so much and have drastically reformed how I treat my hair.

I used to wash every two weeks. And at one point I used to wash my hair once a month, thinking that it was helping my hair to grow. Now I wash weekly, put my hair into protective styles, moisturize regularily, deep condition/hot oil treatment, take vitamins regularily, lay off of the heat etc. In addition I have learnt about so many new products and how to use products differently. I also have others to share my hair woes, triumphs and to set goals with. Since joining the board my hair looks healthier, I can see progress for myself and most of all I feel 100% better about my hair which makes me feel better about myself as a woman. More and more people are noticing that my hair is growing and that it looks healty!

Thank you Long Hair Care Forum! /images/graemlins/kissing4.gif /images/graemlins/clap.gif /images/graemlins/angel.gif /images/graemlins/notworthy.gif/images/graemlins/kissing4.gif /images/graemlins/clap.gif /images/graemlins/angel.gif /images/graemlins/notworthy.gif

Nice Pictures Nikki!

Here's my accomplishments --- able to break my wall state. I grew my hair past my shoulders. I was stuck at that length for a very long time!

I really did not set any goals, but my hair is growing and it is getting healthier. Thanks everyone!

BTW-- Your hair is pretty. I like the picture with the loose curls. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just saw your pictures,, your hair is the bomb.... Ok ok let me here it,, you know, you hair regimen.... Stalking you!!!

I have not met my first goal yet which is bra-strap, but this board has helped me stay focused on taking my vitamins and achieving a healthy mane. I couldn't ask for much more. Length would be the icing on the cake. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

This board (along with BHCB) has helped me to realize my natural hair is not bad at all (and besides natural heads, alot of this support came from relaxed heads /images/graemlins/smile.gif ). I have been talked off the ledge a couple times (you know who you are... /images/graemlins/grin.gif )and in hindsight I reaalllllly appreciate it.
I would like to thank God, Luster's and Adrienne for s-curl...lol...seriously though this product is doing wonders on my hair. My hair is more elastic and resilient. I have almost 80% less split ends and breakage now, since my hair is not sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo dry and brittle.
My 1st goal was always to get my hair back to where it was before I went natural and I reached that goal in 2001. Then my next goal was top of bra strap and I reached that goal last year. My next goal (for April) is end of bra strap...we'll see. So all in all:
softness (never had this)---------check
thicker than before----------check
longer than before-----------check
healthier than ever----------check
less breakage than before--------check

I'm a happy woman. I'm about 95% happy with my hair. There's 1% left for when it gets longer, 1% for when it straightens better (doesn't like being straight...at all), 1% for the little bit of breakage I need to control, 1% for more softness and 1% for more thickness (I love THICK hair) /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was able to get to my first goal which is get back the length that I lost due to damage. I also wanted to be totally independent of the curling iron and blowdryer(it was hard at first...but I did it). My next goal is bra strap(straight) and curly(shoulder blades).

LOL @ faith. that's too funny! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

my first goal when i started was to have enough hair for a ponytail. then i wanted to reach bra strap. now i want to reach waist length. since i never thought my hair would be longer than it was way back then, it's ALL gravy, baby!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Heheheee!

I have chip-chop hair. Some short up front, and longer in the back. Yesterday, a clump of hair got caught under my underarm. I thought to myself..."That's a weird thing...but a GOOD one!

I want all of my hair, chip-chops and all to reach bra-strap. When my chip-chops reach bra-strap, then the rest should be hitting my waist! /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

Sherrylove very nice shine /images/graemlins/wink.gif.My hair goal is to keep it healthy & growing. So far So good /images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Happy Hair Growing! /images/graemlins/cool.gif

/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /images/graemlins/laugh.gif Same with me, Karonica /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

Also, I haven't reached my goal of brastrap length in the back yet; but I'm getting there, slowly but surely... I know it's only a matter of time, because I'm sooo dedicated!!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

My accomplishment is exactly the same as Leejure's. I have finally grown my hair past my shoulders!!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif It has been the same length forever!!! I think it's about 3 inches past my shoulders /images/graemlins/clap.gif w/ the help of this board and following Cathy Howse's recommendations about 8 months ago. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have not reached my goals necessarily in terms of length. But I am definitely am on my way. Most importantly, I have learned healthy alternatives to syling my hair. I am no longer dependent on the blowdryer and curling iron. Not only do I notice a difference, but others including my mostly white co-workers who otherwise don't know much about our hair. My boyfriend has even "forbidden" me to cut my hair now. Thanks to you, you and you!!!

P.s. What is chip-chops?

Ditto about what Armyqt said. I haven't met my goal of bra-strap yet, but my hair is soooooo healthy. My hair didn't use to have sheen to me, but now I can wash my hair let it air dry or rollerset it and before I even put any oil in it, it has this overall healthy sheen to it. And most of the time, I skip the oil because I don't need it to complete my look. I know I've been giving my hair what it needs. And once again, length will be the icing on the cake. I have about 3 more inches to go before I will be in total love with my hair. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

This board has helped me to achieve healthy hair that no longer breaks at the drop of a hat! The process of gaining length is a slow and steady one, so I'm going to focus on overall hair health by washing, deep conditioning, moisturizing and taking my vits. I did have a minor setback - I experienced some major thinning at my crown area /images/graemlins/mad.gif which I suspect is from stress (the last time I was under major stress my hair thinned at the same spot) but I'm nourishing it back to health. I'm trying to stay focused and positive, since I guess setbacks are normal in our hair journey. With the help of this board, I know I'll reach my goal! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have kept my hands out of my hair. It doesn't seem like much, but when you are constantly pulling and twirling your hair, you can loose a lot of length. Thanks to all for the advice of keeping hair in a protective hairstyle.
