Have you ever tried this?

I applied some GF 3 minute deep conditioner to my dry hair with the intention of rinsing it off in a few hours. Well I got busy and needed to go some place. I ended up flat ironing my hair with the conditioner on my hair and it turned out really really nice...shiny, moist and smelling good.

Have you ever tried that and if so what was your results?

I have used some of my rinse out conditioner as heat protectant before flat ironing. Or if I have a really dry area I'll apply some conditioner to that spot. Some conditioners work well for this, some don't.
