I tried apple cider vinegar rinses before but I did them after shampooing, before conditioning. That didnt quite make sense to me because acv closes the hairs cuticle and it would need to be somewhat open to accept conditioner. I still did it that way out of fear of vinegar smelling hair. Tonight I shampooed with Kenra clarifying( love that stuff), conditioned with some Garnier stuff and then final rinsed with maybe 4 tablespoons of acv diluted with about 8 oz of icy water. I poured that on after rinsing the conditioner from my hair, left it for a minute, then rinsed with more icy cold water. I know icy water in the winter is no fun but I really found a way not to mind it and I didnt even feel cold ( I think its psychological to an extent esp being that the icy water only touched my head). The cold water is also very important in sealing the cuticle for shiny, silky hair. Anyway, I noticed when my hair was wet that it was sooo shiny!!! Last week I used a hair glaze and it just does not work and only coated my hair making it kinda dull. My hair needs to be very clean and the cuticle needs to be shut to be shiny and smooth. Im on a quest for shinier hair and this seems excellent. Even the very curly parts of my hair are quite shiny. Cold and acid ( ph) are the two things that make the cuticle close making it shiny.....
K, i added pics, ( in the process of flat ironing lol) sorry for the crappy pic taking lol kim that this is not serum or oil of any kind creating the shine, just basically naked hair flat ironed Also, I did NOT use flash! I clipped these from video record.. So thats the real shine :lol :
