Before I knew better, yes...I made a vow to God...tried to bargain with Him. As I grew in Christ, I learned that there isn't anything that I can promise God. He knows where I will succeed and where I will fall short. Now, I just try to live a life that is pleasing to Him everyday and repent when I know I have done or said something wrong.

Yearly, at Easter, we renew our baptismal vows/promises. There are many more vows that are common, such as marital, Holy Orders (priesthood) or joining an order as a monk/nun or other etc.
