Have you ever been bashed for doing your own hair?

Yes; it kinda funny, actually.

At the beginning of my HHJ, my hair was NL and damaged. My mom constantly suggested that I go get my hair done at a salon, like my sister did.

Now, at healthy WL, she doesn't say anything about my hair, at all, but suggests that I do my sister's hair, too.

Nobody wants to listen when your hair is short but you have better practices than a person with longer hair until yours passes theirs
