Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy's site?

Re: Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy\'s site?

I was doing a search on friday and I stumbled across this Ive seen her first set of hair tips in section 1, I think she updated some of her questions.

Re: Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy\'s site?

I've visited her site briefly but never actually browsed through it. Just now I read some of her answers to those emails. I must say that, I don't like her tone at all. It is a complete turn-off. Sad thing is she probably doesn't realize it, or just doesn't care. It's like, "she's the expert" and everyone else is just stupid. And what is her trip with Wanakee. If I didn't know better, she seems very vindictive about her. It even seems she has mentioned her in her book. WTH??? And how is she gonna say Wanakee's hair is not in the 4 category (Wanakee says it is) by simply looking at relaxed photos. Anyway, I'm just completely dumbfounded by her. I don't like her spirit and the vibes she's sending out. /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

I agree. Some of her answers were pretty harsh. But I want to give her the benefit of the doubt--maybe she doesn't realize how it comes across in print? But I'll tell you this: I'd never buy anything from someone that "spoke" to me that way! But people who have met her in person say she's nice and polite...

In the Cathy vs. Hair Lady thread someone mentioned that Wanakee went to some of Cathy's seminars and asked a bunch of questions. Then she came up with the Verifen products. Maybe Howse thinks she "got robbed" or something... It's all good in the name of competition, IMO...

Re: Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy\'s site?

Ditto, Armyqt and Sassygirl! Her tone has always turned me completely off. She might have good ideas and tips about hair care and growth, and some women on this board have seen their hair thrive after following her regimen. But she's so negative and confrontational that I can't read far enough to stumble onto it. /images/graemlins/frown.gif It's a shame; there is room in the hair care industry for various and opposing points of view. She can disagree with her colleagues without cutting them down - /images/graemlins/hammer.gif why won't she recognize that?

Re: Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy\'s site?

It's interesting that she says that her hair will probably stay the same length the rest of her life but the point is that she is trying to make is that she is maintaining her length. This is based on the hairs natural life cycle. She also mentioned that Wanakee looks like she has type 3 hair (which in my opinion I always thought it was a 4 something) and that her life cycle is probably longer than most african americans.

I don't get it. Is she saying that most of us cannot achieve waist length hair???

Well i think that the "Hair Lady" is fine and we ALL can achieve that legnth. Persnally i think she want's blk ladys on "her side". She may even be "hating" on the hair lady IMO

Re: Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy\'s site?

Yes, but I did'nt read each answer to every question, just the ones that was of interest to me.

Re: Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy\'s site?

I think so too that she may not realize it or that people are taking the answers the wrong way.

But mostly, I think it is due to people asking studpid questions like this;

13) After all these years, shouldn't your hair be long enough to sit or step on?
***now who do you know steps on thier hair**

14) You are doing a disservice to African Americans telling them not to trim their ends. Check out Wanakee's hair it is down to her waist, she must be doing something right.
**she did'nt tell African Americans not to trim, just that it has noting to do with growth, and it does'nt"

15)Your Dew contains mostly water - my point is you are basically selling a bottle of water.

**ALL moisturizing products first ingredient is water, but the fact that there are other ingredients listed obviously means there's more than water in there**

We all would get a little snippy if someone was constantly trying to put us down esp, with petty stuff. So ladies be realistic if you read all the questions her tone and answer to the questions are 98% cordial except for a couple which I belive are the ones I listed.

This is where I have to respectfully disagree.

Like I said in the other post, Howse may not even be aware of how it sounds. But IMO when you are in the business of selling products you shouldn't get snippy with folks. If it were me I would have answered the questions or replied to those comments in a private e-mail. I wouldn't have put them on my own website. If I did put them up on the site, I would try to be more tactful.

She did get screwed on the "no trimming" thing, though. She never says not to trim hair. She just conducted her own little experiment and people misunderstood. I'm sure she gets tired of explaining that one.

Re: Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy\'s site?

I definitely think Cathy needs to remove her 'competitors review'. It does her image no good. I do think people are rude to her but I definitely think she is partly to blame for people's reactions to her.

Re: Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy\'s site?

That's true, and we all react differently. What would the world be like if God made us all the same eh? And she could not have listed the question at all, but it seems because she did, then perhaps she thought her answers, straightforward not rude. If I thought that so did thousands of others.

I think she's banking on there being more people that understand than not. I mean she is sharing her success it's up to an individual to try or not to try. And truthfully you can't please everyone I mean out of 100 something questions a couple that were let's say "adversial" (sp) for lack of a better word people will accentuate the negative.

I think I shared before that my husband is a Pastor, 80% of the congregrants love him and understand his progam then there are those that hearing the exact same comments as the others think he's arrogant and not doing a good job.

Go Figure /images/graemlins/drunk.gif

off topic, why are they in the church then. one thing that peeves me off is unsupporting congregations and those who have only bad words to say about their pastors /images/graemlins/mad.gif pastors go thru so much as it is. they dont need this junk as well. ok, i am done /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Have any of you ever seen this on Cathy\'s site?

(((Pandora))), I often wonder the same thing. If I was in a church I did'nt like, I would Leave and find one that I could be happy at.

I guess they are there PURPOSELY, to try to make your life Hell. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bought this suit $250 on sale, marked down to $89.99 lime green (thought I was keyute) I got so many compliments on it the color was different for me, then a few of the 20%'ers said, "Don't you think that's a bit much, for Pastor's Wife" /images/graemlins/mad.gif

I mean is there lime green rule somewhere in the books??
People, I tell ya /images/graemlins/nuts.gif

So, I said, "It's a little different for me I asked my husband what he thought, and he loved it and he's who I aim to please !"

Well they thought that was snippy too..Can't please folks, no way , no how. /images/graemlins/nono.gif

I know! I'm currently looking for a church to attend regularly. If I don't like what the leaders have to say or if I get a bad vibe from the place, I don't go back. I left the last church because they got a new Pastor and suddenly all the female leaders were "demoted" because dude didn't believe women should be in leadership positions in the church. /images/graemlins/naughty.gif I didn't stick around and complain.

Waaaay off topic-- My father's Pastor says his stress level has been cut in half since he got caller id.

/images/graemlins/phone.gif "I wonder where he is... I wanted to tell him about Sister Brown..."

Maybe they would be more comfortable if you looked more like Barbara Bush. Maybe they think fine-ness is above a religious leader's wife...tsk tsk.

Hi Ladies:

To be honest, her attitude doesn't bother me. I guess it's really because I'm so gratefull for the wealth of information she gave in her book. I never knew anything about our hair needing protein after being stripped from chemicals. That alone was very informative!

However, I guess she can learn about customer service and respecting her clients from Carolyn Gray. Carolyn is such a sweety!

A few days ago, she responded to my request for her sample and we exchanged a few emails. In one message, she complained that some people send her mean email and I was in shock!

I told her that if she wants to see how much people are impressed with her book and site, she needs to visit us here at LHCF.

I honestly hope to see her here one day soon.
