Girl, you got got it free. You HAVE to try it. Then tell us how it is (not that you're an experiment or anything)

I know!!! I love free hair stuff, but I love my hair more!

I ain't tryin' nuthin' 'til somebody tells me they tried it and it worked miracles!!! :)

I almost bought the Silk Elements Megasilk Olive conditioner but put it back on the shelf because I was unsure of it. I've heard good things about it though.

Not a question but a comment:look: AORM seems to stretch my new growth...I'm not sure what it is but it really does. I'm using it for cowashes now that i'm almost 7 weeks post...I'm going to stick with this until TU:yep:

anybody relaxed used KNOT TODAY & KINKY CURLING CUSTARD

Really?? I always linger in front of the Kinky Curly display in Target but move on cause I don't want to get hooked on that little bottle costing $13 or whatever, especially if I have to use a lot of it.

ETA: But I"m glad yall mentioned detanglers because I've been curious about Qhemets detangling ghee. Have any relaxed heads ever used it? I've considered but it seems like it may be too heavy...

Has anyone else tried this yet? I have the growth oil for HOTs and the growth lotion for obvious reasons.

It works great for me it has the only moisturizer that kept my hair soft and NONGREASY for days I only applied it once.

Did my first HOT yesterday and my hair was soft and NONGREASY in the morning.

Edit: Also I don't know when my next relaxer is because these products has my hair so manageable

I wish I saw this thread yesterday when I was debating whether or not I should buy ecostyler gel. Well I bought it anyways and I L-O-V-E it. Deffinitely a keeper :D

MegaSilk did nothing for my hair but make it dry. I tried it twice and got the same results so I tossed it.

SE conditioner made me dry as well. I tried to use the heat protector and found it awful also.

I'm 4b by the way

Ok, that SE conditioner is slowly making its way to the back of my cabinet.....

Thanks ladies!

Am I the only relaxed head whose hair favors products typically used by naturals? I prefer cone free, sulfate free, products that most naturals use. It all started a few years ago when I started using Elucence and Kenra. I couldn't really figure out why those conditioners would work for me consistently, and then I realized b/c they were cone free. I moved on to Giovanni leave in and used that for years. Then I started using other Giovanni products and explored other natural hair type products and my hair loves it. I can't do the Mizani, Kera care, tons of serums, the italian products, etc... my hair w/o a doubt prefers more natural type hair products. I find it so weird b/c I'm relaxed.

Last night I used Curl Junkie Rehab and my hair melted . I went and ordered their poo, the banana fix, and the smoothing lotion. All these products are geared towards natural hair but my hair agrees with it. It's interesting b/c my hair is relaxed pretty bone straight. Even when I go to the salon for a wash and set, I've had hair dressers tell me numerous times that my hair is soft and nice and they always inquire about my products or try to look at it and read it and say "mami its good"

anybody relaxed used KNOT TODAY & KINKY CURLING CUSTARD

poochie167, I've tried the Knot Today and it's a pretty moisturizing, detangling leave in for me. I didn't really care for the kinky curling custard. I bought it to use on my edges but I didn't care for it. Are you not using the Smoothing lotion anymore? I had bought a bottle months back b/c I remember your review on it, I used it and liked it but had plenty other leave in conditioners. So far, I'm really loving the curl junkie line. I just ordered their poo and banana fix conditioner -- I hope I like both. I also reordered the Smoothing lotion, seems like a line where I could actually use several products from.

@sunnieb, SE megasilk (not the olive kind) made my hair dry.

@poochie167, I have used KCKT but it makes my hair have zero slip so I don't use it. @shasha8685, how do you use yours as a detangler - wet/dry/spritz/etc?

@Raspberry, I have a Qhem sample and I'm trying to figure how best to use it. @january noir uses Qhemet's detangling product and liked it a lot last time we chatted. January, do you still use the detangling ghee with great success? How do you use it?

Brittster, I use products that are high quality and -cone free. I do use sulfates to give my hair a good cleaning. What do you shampoo with for deep clarifying/chelating/cleaning?

Me too, I have to use high quality natural type products. It's just what agrees w/ my hair. I think the Elucence clarifying poo will give you a deep clean. It's not a poo I use often tho. I have the small bottle and have had it for months. It's sulfate free but it can and will strip your hair if you overuse it, but it's a great clarifier. I prefer it wayyy much more than their moisturizing poo. I use the clarifier once in a while, particularly when I'm going to use Nexus Emergencee. I will always use this in lieu of my other natural type poos.

thx. Brittster
yes i still use the smoothing lotion. I have a backup bottle too! I LOVE the curl junkie line. And u just reminded me to use the smoothing lotion today so my hair won't frizz.

i was looking for a more natural GEL, which is why i had my eye on the kinky curly line. I read that it was better to use them in conjunction. But u seem to like the knot today alone. So is the knot today a staple of yours now? I also own Giovanni leave in as well...so getting knot today isn't a priority cuz i have my staple leave-ins. But i'm always up for more suggestions

Brittster, thank you. I purchased Kenra clarifying yesterday. It's a small bottle also. I will use it up and consider Elucence next time around.

poochie167, I returned the Knot Today since I already have/had enough leave in conditioner at the time. It's nice, but not any better than using Giovanni, Curl Junkie, KBB.. and since I had a few products already I returned it. But I did like it. Yes, I feel you on the natural based gel. What I've done is take a small scoop of eco styler and add some moisturizer and a lil bit of glycerin and mix it up in jar. It smoothes my edges and leaves a wave to it. If you want your edges more taut use more eco styler and less moisturizer.

divachyk Ohhh ok, try Elucence next time around and see if you like it.

divachyk I just use it straight out of the bottle on damp hair when I'm about 12 weeks into my stretch. I love it as a detangler and I usually have to follow up with a moisturizer.

@Brittster
may i ask what moisturizer u use with your eco styler.
I love eco too, but i never really add anything to it. what has worked for you

poochie167 I use either hair milk fr kbb or I had a bottle of silken child and I mixed some w/ the eco styler. Basically, I use a light hair moisturizer. Attached is a pic of the eco styler mixed w/ the silken child. It looks very moisturizing and it's quite creamy. It's perfect for my edges for a soft/wavy type hold. If you want more hold, use less moisturizer. I guess I use this more as moisturizing gel. I'd imagine if I were to do a twist out/braid out - something like this would come in handy.

I just attached recent pics of me w/ my edges smoothed down w/ this mixture so you have an idea what kinda hold I have.

aww thx for the pics!! i'm gonna try this at home. yes that kinda mix would come in handy for a braid out and twist out. Which is another reason i was looking for a natural gel. Eco styler is great...but it doesn't have that smoothing feeling when i wanna use it on dry hair for a braid out. Mixing it with something seems to be a better option. thx

I've tried it and I really liked it. My hair was very soft and silky afterwards. It does have a very loud fragrance. It gave my hair great slip while detangling and rinsing out. It will be in my rotation for cowashes once I get rid of some of my other conditioners.

poochie167, you're welcome! I could tell you were trying to envision what I was talking about. Just play w/ the measurements, you can make it as moisturizing as you'd like or make it with more hold.
