Has this happened to anyone else ...Sweating out Relaxer

OK so I know you can't really sweat out a relaxer, but I'm wondering what is going on with my hair when this happens. It is not happening currently but it is something that has always confused me and the hairdresser could never answer me.

Basically I will have a relaxer....a fresh one less than a week old. I go to sleep with my hair wrapped or tied up, when I wake up the hair on the side of my head (4b) has turned/reverted into a matted tangled shrunken mess, while the rest is still straight.. I don't know if the hair is over processed , underprocessed or what. Usually I just wet it, air dry and flat iron but wtf.

Any clues?

What is your hair wrapped or tied up with? To keep hair smooth or to keep a style, I've learned to always go to bed in silk or satin scarves and/or satin sleeping caps. I also sleep on a silk pillowcase.

As far as I can remember it has not been consistent.....it was usually tied up...with what I don't know. I do know the last time was silk/satin type of material.

Yeah. Its ridiculously hot and humid beginning in late April, and when I mowed the lawn last year my hair was horrible. I was sweating so much...and for me there ain't no such thing as not shampooing and just rinsing after sweating like that...the sodium in the sweat breaks my hair right off, real quick.

Sounds to me like you may be sweating during your sleep and the sweat/moisture is making your hair frizz up.

What happens when you wash and dry your hair. Does it get straight again? If yes, then it is just frizz.

They tangly thing could be an indication of overprocessing. Do you relax your new growth bone straight? My hair used to tangle too but that was b/c it was overprocessed in the past and my ends were in bad shape. Since I stopped letting my hair get overprocessed and trim my ends my hair no longer gets tangled.
