Has anyone tried this pre-poo

I was reading this on black hair media. Does anyone use this as a pre-poo?http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=35636

Folks on this site do it quite a bit. I thought most folks, hair fanatics or not, knew about putting eggs in hair. In fact I think Kinikakes mixed eggs in her conditioner, with oils for her CWs. I might mix some eggs in my amla oil for my amla pre-poo this weekend. I hope it doesn't negate some of the goodies from the Amla.

I haven't tried it in a while but I have been using henna with molasses. My hair came out dryer but really strong. Very minimal breakage.

I remember reading that some of the ladies think that the eggs do a better job than the Nexxus emergencee. I'm going to try it one day.

Yes! This does make your hair stronger. I use 2 eggs and 1 tbsp of olive oil and let sit for 2 hours(got it from BHM too). It's a keeper:grin:

IMO, they are far better than Nexxus emergencee

I am trying this right now. I mixed 2 whole eggs, 1oz olive oil, 1oz amla oil, 1oz honey and a few drops of Silk Amino Acid in a bowl. I whipped them together and put in a color squeeze bottle with an applicator tip then put the mixture on my hair from scalp to ends. It's been a half hour so far, one anad a half more hours to go.

So far so good, I will come back to update the results.

Why did the eggs cook on your head? I thought that if you would use raw eggs on hair, one would naturally not use any heat. I presently have the mixture on my head wrapped in a large towel.

I will also wash it out initially with very luke warm to cold water and when the mixture is out, then I will use warmer water to finish. I will proceed with a sulfate free shampoo and deep condition for 45 minutes under my hooded dryer.

As for the brillo effect, I've used the Aphogee hardcore treatment many times and this hardens the hair more than anything I know and it works very well on my hair but it's expensive. Eggs and olive oil are cheaper for me and if this mixture works anyway near as well, I will say goodbye to Aphogee hardcore.

I really want this to work so again I'll be back with the results.

No I did not use heat at all....i dunno maybe the heat that was produced by my cap...or either the warm water when I rinsed.....but I did have lil tiny bits of cooked eggs...so I was like......nope wont do this again...:ohwell::nono:

^^^^^I've tried it when I was relaxed, but I thought you weren't supposed to use a heat cap nor warm water, per the egg bits being left in the hair?? I've only used it with cool water only. Just don't think it's wise to use a heat cap for this at all. JMO.

Okay, as promised the results are in. I tried this method of pre-pooing and I did not experience the hard brillo type effect that some experienced and I think it was due to the silk amino acids and honey in my mix. Then I proceeded to DC my hair with Kenra moisturizing conditioner. My hair really was soft, too soft I think. IMHO, I think I got too much stretch in my hair strand so today I will do some protein reconstruction treatment to get the strength back.

This may be a good method for those who have extremely dry and/or coarse hair and need some elasticity in their hair. Now I will tell you this, I will not shove this method aside as I will probably at some point or another need the extra elasticity in my hair, so I will do this on a need to basis only. HTH.

BTW, my hair texture is 4a/b fine.
