Has anyone had a "conditioning relaxer" applied to not just new growth?

I've heard about it before and was recently in barnes and noble reading a black hair care book and it came up again. The process of putting a "conditioning relaxer" on the length of your hair for a short time. I may experiment with a section of hair. My hair tangles horribly and is hell to deal with when wet. sectioning is no help and every conditioner only tends to help ever so slightly.

Has anyone ever had one? Yes it sounds terrible :nono: but I don't want someone echoing how terrible it sound just want to know has anyone had one and not just a regular relaxer you did and "overlapped". Apparently the conditioning relaxer is just left on barely enough to smooth through a section. not enough to try and re relax but to condition. Thanks.

I don't know if what you're talking about is the same but the first time I got a professional and lye relaxer done the hairdresser coated the entire length of my hair with it telling me that it was going to get rid of the calcium build-up and recondition my hair. Well after that my hair was so STRONG, SILKY, THICK and HEAVY! It remained that way over time as well, it's just not a good idea to do it more than once. Really I think the only time doing a conditioning or corrective relaxer is ok is if you were switching from no-lye to lye and you can only do it that very first time.
