A hot oil treatment overnight instead of washing it out in the time recommended on the bottle.I don't think I will have time to do pre shampoo treatments on a morning so I am wondering if I can do them while I sleep.
Also, did you still heat it up before using it even tho it was going to be on all night?
TIA

I've done it before, and I actually prefer that method. Make sure you cover you pillows and/or head with a towel because the oil will run. You can wrap your head with a towel if you want to hold more heat in under the plastic cap. But I usually don't worry about heating up the oil, because I figure the length of time that it is on my head will make up for not using heat.

I dont see why it would be a problem, unless it is more than just oil. I do this with olive oil all the time (but I know a store-bought treatment might be different). As far as heating it up...Well if it's going to be wrapped in some kind of plastic on your head all night, then the heat from your head is all you need.

I have. I did not heat it up before applying it to my hair. The plastic cap and my body heat helped.

I've left conditioner in my hair overnight, but never oil. I'm afraid that if I leave oil in my hair overnight, having that oil around my hairline for that long might cause breakouts on my forehead...

I usually do it with a mix of sweet almond and olive oil and I put on two showercaps and a scarf just to make sure the oils don't get on the pillow

My cousin does her hotoil and overnight treatments with the hotsix oil

I have tried this with many oils and I love it...Hot Six included. I think I'm going back to this method.
