I really wanna know where this girl gets her hairscarfs/ties. They are absolutely beautiful. I've never seen anything like them.

Hope I'm not putting her on blast. She might already be on LHCF since her hair is so gorgeous.

I have scarves just as pretty. I collect alot of "Vera" scarves. They were popular in the 60s. I got them all off Ebay.

Re: Has anyone ever seen these beautiful hairscarfs? They are beautiful and I want on

But these seem to specially made for tying hair hair because they have the little tie design on the ends. For instance, look at the red and white one.

One of my cousin's always has beautiful scarves on. She says she gets them from her local BSS.

I'm not sure what you mean by tie design but if you have a scarf a little bigger than a bandana and you fold it so that two diagonally opposite corners come together forming a triangle and then place the longest side of the triangle against your hairline and cross the two ends that now become ties at the back and bring them to the front to tie a know, the ends will appear narrow and look just like that. I wish I had one handy to show you.

I think the reason it looks as if they have tie thingies is because after crossing or tying a half-knot at the back you get this narrow section that reveals mostly the border of the scarf, looking like a separate section. (Am I making sense? :look: )

ETA: Pictures of scarves that might look like the tie part is separate if tied as I described:

You can get scarves like this anywhere, but the best place is going to the fabric store and making your own.

Re: Has anyone ever seen these beautiful hairscarfs? They are beautiful and I want on

These are just regular 24 x 24 scarfs tied to look this way.
I took a few photos to demonstrate since I just tied my hair up for the night.

I have a few 24 x 24 silk scarfs that I tie in this manner to help them stay on my head. If I do not make the extra loop around the front, I lose my scarf in the sheets. I have rollers in tonight, hence the bump in the back.

Hope these photos help.

The scarf laid out

fold scarf - not quite a triangle since I need it larger to fit my rollers

place the folded edge against my forehead

Tied in the rear with ends hanging down
http://render1.snapfish.com/render2...KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QPnJ|Rup6aQQ|/of=50,280,442

End brought around to the front (rollers covered)

Ends tied at front. Had I not been in rollers tonight, I'd have more slack at the front similar to the blue & white scarf photo

I think I have that one, I got it from Target maybe around 6 months ago. I think Target carries a few nice scarves.

Thank you for that demonstration. I never knew how to tie a square scarf on my head. It has to have tie ends for it to work for me.

In what section will I find scarves? I'm sorry I'm acting so slow. I've just never purchased scarves before.

Re: Has anyone ever seen these beautiful hairscarfs? They are beautiful and I want on

My mom has a lot of these but she bought them in Haiti though. I really thought it was only Haitian or African women who tied their hair like that. I've seen a lot of pretty ones in Flea markets so check them out.

Yeah, I purchased my prettiest and most reasonably priced silk scarves last time I was in the UK at the TieRack, I even brought several back for friends. TJMaxx in the US also has reasonble silk scarves too. I bought a nice sized (can't recall dimensions tho) Betsy Johnson from there for $15.

Re: Has anyone ever seen these beautiful hairscarfs? They are beautiful and I want on

Hello all. I talked with the girl whose scarfs are in the pics and she told me that she got them Wal-Mart.
