Half wig or braids??????

I really want to grow this cut out but its hard to with short hair to keep heat and relaxers to a minimum. So I was thinking of either wigging up or getting some box braids. Question for ladies who have use one or both to retain length?? Could you please explain your regimen and results?

Just run a search. There are lots of people in the "hide your hair" challenges. You'll probably find what you're looking for in those threads.

I love a nice half wig I plait my own hair except the front of course, slap my wig cap on to flatten the braids put the wig on and go. wash and dc once a week while still braided up cause Im transitioning and have to do everthing in sections or my hair will tangle and break. moisturize once a day and thats abt it

I dont use the combs. Just bobby pin it down and the hair hides the pins. There are a abundance of you tubers with great ideas like muffinsismylover etc. HTH

Half wig wearer here! I rather wear half wigs than box braids because I feel like I can switch up the style with half wigs and I can still get to my scalp same as the box braids. Plus box braids are really time consuming to put in and take out. A half wig takes about 5 seconds to put on and take off.

Yea I've decided to do the half wig I will def update you guys on the growth and how it works for me..but for the half wig wearings what do you do to your hair underneath the wig? Do you bother straigtening it after washing it? Do u use a wig cap? Do you braid it?

My hair is plaited under my half wig so that I can moisturize and seal daily and co-wash when necessary.

Ditto - I also leave out some hair in the front for blending. Just a little. The rest is corn rowed. I wear a wig cap also. HTH
