Welcome!! My suggestion to you is to use the search box to search for solutions to your specific hair questions. Particularly this basic stuff. As a newbie, it'll be faster for you to do that than wait for responses.

I agree with the poster above, you'll be much quicker to learn if you set out to search for yourself.
A great way to get started is by checking out the newbie manual.

I myself cowash by just rinsing my hair, adding conditioner, let it sit for a while as I shower and then rinse that out. I'm such a product junkie I can't really say what I normally use, but I suggest a conditioner that isn't too expensive (as you might want to cowash often) and provides a nice slip.

Welcome!
Ditto what the other 2 ladies said.
You'll learn to LOVE that search bar!!
Regimes vary head to head...everyone is doing something a lil bit different, it's one of those things where you'll have do some sorta research and trial. For example when I was a lurker, I literally spent HOURS on the boards using the search box to find stuff out because I couldn't ask questions. A lot of the stuff has been talked about since 2006 and seriously, if you know anything at all about your own hair, you'll remember how your hair acted or reacted in the past..and figure out what you can do or what product you can't use on your hair. I remember from past relaxers what had gone wrong...didn't know it was protein overload or overlapping relaxers, but after reading the boards, I remember ohhh THAT is why my hair did that..and THIS is why my ends felt and looked like that.
Invest the time in the search engines, you and your hair are worth it!
ENJOY the community!!! and Happy Hair Growing (HHG)
