So, I haven't really posted any updates on my hair in a while. Some of the pics are from earlier this year. Sorry for all the annoying hearts but I'm not bout to have my face all out there . There will be a lot. Enjoy!

Whoa you have some beautiful hair! I really love your twistouts and your straight hair with the soft curls. Thanks for sharing!

Gorgeous natural hair! And congrats on reaching almost MBL! I like the styles you have in your pictures!

Aireen & chelleyrock, it didn't dry all the way and the roots were still wavy. I'd been under the dryer for 2 hours so it didn't look that great to me, but thanks for your kind words lol. Thank you ladies!

Wow your hair looks great!

If it isn't to much to ask can you tell me your twist out regimen please.
(how many twists, what products to twist with)

Sent from my HTC Glacier using HTC Glacier

Sprinkl3s I don't know how many twists I do, but I do medium sized ones. I always part maybe 4-6 big sections so the twists will lay where I want them to instead of sticking up weirdly lol. I don't part for each twist though, because I don't like parts to show. For the front, I always use a bobby pin to pin down the roots so they're flat.

I wash and condition with HE Hello Hydration. I add ORS Moisturizing Hair Lotion to each section and some Garnier Fructis extra hold gel. I only do this for big sections; I don't add product for each individual twist.

Because the twists are medium-sized, I don't separate them. I just lift the roots with a pick for more volume. If I do bigger twists, like in the second picture under twist-n-curls, I separate.

Your hair is awesome! Thanks for sharing your pics; do you have an album? And I have to ask: what is your regular regimen? :)

NappyNelle I don't have one. If you only knew how much trouble it took me to get these uploaded lol. My regimen is pretty simple:

Wash/condition with HE Hello Hydration. Deep condition with Hollywood Beauty Carrot DC and moisturize with ORS Moisturizing Hair Lotion. It used to be much more fancy, but I got too lazy to keep it up, so this is what works now.

I also have a sensitive scalp and shampoo seems to irritate it, so I have just started cowashing (after saying I never would) with either the HE HH, Suave's Coconut Conditioner, or their Almond & Shea Butter one. I try to shampoo at least twice a month.

I detangle in the shower only.

I don't have a timetable on when I straighten either, just when I feel like it.

In terms of styling, I keep a style for a whole week. So I may have a diffused wash-n-go that I'll wear out or in a puff. If I have twists that are looking old, I pin them up. I'm about as low maintenance as I can be. Hope that helps!

charislibra I mentioned my twistout regimen up above. I did the same thing with that style but I never wore my twistout down. I just pulled random sections and bobby pinned them towards the center of my hair. At night, I used the pineapple method (doing a really high, loose ponytail) to preserve the style and re-pinned in the morning.

Gemini350z you can! It's definitely challenging but there are sooo many resources and plenty of women here who have done it and I know you can too!

loving the rollerset pic too and the straight hair pic. I see u did not got for sleek straight and retained some of your texture, it looks thick and beautiful

Your hair really is beautiful. Was your styling regimen different when your hair was shorter? Say, SL or before you hit APL?

bride91501 Definitely. There were some things I can do well now that I wasn't so great at. For example, my twistouts looked very thin back then as opposed to now. And they did not last me as long. Now, I can keep a twistout for 5 or 6 days. But I was better at some styles then than I am now. My rollersets came out very well IMO than they do now. That I attribute to the length because it takes MUCH longer to dry.

I knew how to do all these styles on my shorter hair but it was always a hit or miss each time. Because of that, I didn't experiment too much when my hair was SL. I was also uncomfortable with my hair shrinking up to my ears lol. I think I was just doing too much as a new natural. I tried too many products and didn't know how to improvise a failed style. Low maintenance works well for me, so I get the same results every time I style my hair now. Does that answer your question?
