Hair Type

I notice that a lot of people are mentioning what seems to be their hair type - for ex: 4a/b
What does this mean? How do you find out what your hair type/texture is?

Do you find that certain products work better for the specific hair types? Is there a listing of recommended products for specific hair types?

Thx! :perplexed

This site may help you with the methods most widely used.

As for products that may be a little more challenging. What works for one person may not for another.

My best advice would be to find someone similar to your hair texture that has the success you are looking for and mimic some of their product use.

You can tailor your regimen to what works and does not work.

That should give you a start. The key is to be consistent, stay with your regimen for a certain amount of time to see what effects it is having on your hair particularly from a growth standpoint.

Some products you may notice immediate results with where as others for example vitamins and growth aids will take longer.

Be patient and enjoy the journey because that is where you will spend the majority of your time.

By the way I am not sure what your hair texture is but in my siggy you will see my hair with is mainly 4b with some 4a in the front.

Yes, you may find you have different textures of hair in different places of your head.
