Hi,

I'm beginning my transition from relaxed to natural, this is my first time really seeing my natural texture in a while and I was hoping you guys could help me figure out whether I am a 4a or 4b?

I am not totally sure on this but I think you may still have too much relaxed hair to really truly know your hair type. The weight of the relaxed ends doesn't allow you true pattern to show. I hope someone with more knowledge on this will chime in and help you out. Good luck on your transition!

I'm going to second this :D

My new growth looked alot like that at first, but I honestly didn't see my "true" texture till I was 6-12 months into my transition...its true that the relaxed hair really does weigh down the curls so they (might) appear looser. :yep:
