Hair Trauma!

i just had the worst experience with trying the twist out. I just took out my twists out, which I had put in the previous night...and my hair was the biggest, poofiest curly mess ever!! I tried to put product on it and push it up into a style but it looked terrible. So, I attempted to comb it out, so that I could put it into bantu knots and I lost a handful of hair!! So much for starting out the 2007 Hair Challenge right! :( Luckily, I get my hair done on friday and I can start over again but I am so upset!!

I second the previous question. Sorry it didn't work for you this time. I like to twist on freshly washed hair or try thoroughly moisturizing and then twist.

I twist my hair and take it out in the morning, its a curly afro and I wear it like that for two or three days and then start over again. I have never lost any hair doing that. I don't think you should have combed it. I do not comb it. I run a comb through the part closes to my scalp to puff it up more but thats it. My hair is too short to leave the twist in and go to work not with the kind of job I have. I am to visable to the President and Vice President and it just would not work. After the first day I put a band around it and leave it alone. I hope you have better luck next time.

Well, I tried the twist on dry hair, maybe that is where i went wrong. I parted my hair in one ince pieces, sprayed it with a leave in conditioner until wet, then applied Motions daily hair moisturizer as I begin to twist each piece. Then I proceeded to put my twist on rollers, so that the ends would be curly. I left it in over night.
