Here's todays long hair growth tip:
How many times have you run out of shampoo and used
soap or dish washing liquid? Before I learned about
this, I couldn't tell you how many times I've done
it. Well that is a serious no no. The reason is
pH. pH is measured on a scale from 0 to 14. Zero
is acid and 14 is alkaline. The pH is our hair is
normally between 4 and 6 which means it is more
acidic.
Soaps and dishwashing liquids are more alkaline. That
is what causes them to lather a lot. Using a shampoo
or other product with the wrong pH strips the hair of
the natural oils. Products that say they are pH
balanced mean the level is between 4 and 6 like our hair.
If you can't find a mention of the actual level on
the label, just make sure the product is for dry hair,
damaged hair, color treated hair, chemically treated
hair, or dandruff.
