Hair Style Help

Yall, I need some help with styling. The avatar is how I wear my hair for a couple of days after retouch. I retouch every 4 to 6 months. The rest of the time my hair is a mess. I use to wear buns and found that my hair was breaking right where the scrunchie was and it started growing in layers. My hair doesn't like buns. I started wearing braid outs but now my hair is too thin and it doesn't look good.

Right now I rollers set and wear it in a messy, curly updo for the first couple of days after washing but after then, I'm at a lost. Anybody got any suggestions????

have you ever tried chopsticks to do your buns ? Your hair is so thick , a nice big chopsticky bun would look sexy

Well, i can somewhat relate. I had that problem with my bun a few months ago. Now when i bun i just lightly twist it into a coil then i add the scrunchie at the end, that helps alot imo. I find that wearing a braidout around 3 months post or more definitely gives an appearance of thickness. Or you can do one big french braid down the middle, sometimes (not that often) i just blowdry (as oppose to airdrying) my hair after washing and add a headband. I don't know if you wanna try that, but i like the puffy hair effect. You can always just go back to your bun using that method and just add some hair candy to spice it up. I must admit i love tight ponytail and it could be the death of my hair. I just can't purposely make a loss ponytail.:ohwell: But that method has worked for me so far and it only always me to twist my scrunchie around two to three times, so that perfect. I hope i helped you somewhat, i really try to keep it simple though.

Maybe you can get braids for a month or two?? Have you tried twistouts? Your hair is thin????

I love the freedom of braids but the adverse atmosphere at work that they produce makes me sick. I really wanna go off on some of my co-workers. (But that's another post)
I've needed tried the twistouts but ultra-conservative work environment limit my choices.

Believe it or not my hair is really thin, especially at the ends. The roots always tend to look thick because there is always new growth.

Thanks for the suggests on the bun creation. I may try that because I really like the neatness and freedom of the bun. I love the tight ones too but girl you know we can't do that too often.

thanks so much. I have thought about the chopsticks and have eyed them at the BSS several times. My hair looks thick on the avatar but it is not really. I love that picture but my husband was moving my hair around to cover the holds and make it look full before he took the picture.
