When I take these along with a few more supplements, I have amazing results. I'm not sure why they aren't more popular, as the ingredient list and measurements are pretty good. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person buying these. I hope the seller doesn't stop.

Immmediately googled this, the ingredients are super to say the least. I see why it cost so much. Could you @smores be more specific on your results from this. A couple of questions if you don't mind.

**How does it smell and what can u liken its taste to?
**How long after you started taking it so you start noticing results?

Girl, I was so happy to happen open vital proteins. If I'm being honest, I've never stayed on the bandwagon long enough to contribute "good" stuff to my hair. Initially, I was adding it to my AM hot chocolate and coconut oil, but I feel off after about 3 weeks. I will say during those three weeks (with no other supplements) my nails were growing faster than I could bite them (I'm a recovering/always relapsing nail biter). I'm getting back on the bandwagon on August 1st and will seriously track my progress this time (doing a 3 month challenge with a friend).

No taste, but I have also never added it to plain water. You can add it to your juices, coffees, whatever. The collagen peptides can be added to hot or cold beverages. I'll be adding it to my Powerade Zero or BCAAs before my workouts.

**How long after you started taking it so you start noticing results?
I started taking it for the glycine (I'm on a low carb/keto diet) to help me with a weight loss stall. It immediately worked for my stall. I kept taking it and noticed my nails were growing too. I didn't take it long enough to contribute anything to my hair. Sorry. BUT it is a form of gelatin (that is supposed to be easier on your digestive system) so check out all of the benefits gelatin first.

HTH!

I was thinking of starting a gelatin challenge bc I do so much better when I have my hair sisters along the same journey. Vital Proteins and Great Lakes don't have a huge following here, but keto people swear by it for "whooshes" of weight loss. It may be our next LHCF bandwagon!

EDIT: It is missing l-cystine, which is supposed to be really good for hair growth. Nouritess has some, but I'm still looking for more.

No worries if you are able to tell if it did anything for your hair, I was really interested in hearing the benefits of it skin tightening and smoothing, I'll be greedy and take a lil weight loss in the mix as well.

I had amazing results with: Phytophanere Hair Vitamins this year. However, I still like to switch annually. Although I'm torn about this decision.

Because Phytophanere did me right. And I think I like it much better this Vivisical and some others I have taken.

For 2016 I was thinking of trying: PhytoSpecific Cap Energy also by Phyto. Now I am unsure?

Those Nouritress sound good and Hydratherma Naturals is also coming out with a new Supplement and I STAN for HTN products, So I'm really torn.

I did pick up: Beautifully Bamboo recently and will use them because the Phytophanere requires you do 4 months on and 1 month off. I may use these during that month off.

Phyto has been so good to me this year, so I may honestly just go with Cap Energy and keep it in the Phyto family and just incorporate some of these others as a side to take when you have to take something else for 1 month with Phyto.

Darn you @IDareT'sHair - :runninghug:
I had just made my decision, to buy Shen Min (as opposed to Viviscal or Nouritress) and now you've just upset my haircart with your Phytophanere review. :rofl:Can you share the results you experienced?

I'm going to add Shen Min ingredients to this thread.

PLEASE NOTE: DIFFERENT SERVING SIZE, INGREDIENTS AND INGREDIENT AMOUNTS. MAYBE DUE TO A FORMULA CHANGE??

Shen Min Advance Formula for Women
Overview

Shen Min (meaning "Life/Vitality" in Chinese) is a 100% natural hair nutrient derived from the eastern wild rose, also known as He Shou Wu. It is best known for its ability to stimulate hair growth and restore graying hair to its original color.

Features
While the exact mechanism is still unknown, Shen Min seems to extend the growth phase of the hair follicle, thus reducing the number of hairs in the resting phase and fall out phase. The net effect is a greater number of hairs growing and fewer falling out. Another purported benefit may be derived from the ability of Shen Min to block DHT (De-Hydro Testosterone) from binding to the follicle. DHT, the "bad" testosterone, is a leading cause of male pattern baldness because it helps deactivate the hair by binding to the follicle. Men produce greater levels of DHT as they age.

  • The roots used are no less than 10 years old and organically grown and harvested.
  • Most roots available on the market today are less than 3 years old.
  • Shen Min uses the only standardized root in the industry. Each tablet contains 150 mg of 12:1 extract with 435 mgs of the raw herb. No binder or fillers are used.
  • Considered a naturally alternative to Rogaine/Minoxidil and is 100% safe with no known side effects.
  • Helps grow terminal hair
  • Contains Bioperine, a black pepper extract proven to help increase absorption and utilization of nutrients.

@ilong

It could be a lot of factors like: I'm almost 12 months Post Relaxer and taking the Phytophanere coupled with 10,000 mcgs of Biotin.

All of this could be a combination of many things. (Better diet, more water, less stress etc..)

But I feel my hair has really taken off since using Phytophanere and Phyto Cap Energy on the 1 month off still with 10,000 mcgs of Biotin.

After trying Visviscal for 1 full year and Phyto for almost 1 year, the Phyto (IMO) has won overall, hands down. Even better, for me, IMO that Nioxin.

I like to stick with one Brand for a full year and then incorporate something different.

So, it's making it a hard decision for me going into 2016 to switch over from Phytophanere to PhytoSpecific Cap Energy. I'm still toying with that very difficult decision.

The PhytoSpecific 'supposedly' is geared for "our hair" but it doesn't have all the things Phytophanere has.

@IDareT'sHair - thanks! I too feel that hair growth stimulants work synergistically. The dilemma is identifying the best combinations! I was considering, discontinue taking Natures Bounty HSN and take Shen Min along with something... either Viviscal or now with your review Phytophanere.
In 2013 I took Country Life and Viviscal.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.

@ilong
County Life Maxi Hair & Visviscal sounds like a good combo.

I still have quite a bit of: Nature's Gummies and Natrol Biotin 10,000 mcg left.

And I just bought Beautifully Bamboo. I'll be using these with either Phytophanere or PhytoSpecific Cap Energy.

I like Country Life Maxi Hair and I also like Ultra Nourish Hair, Skin, Nails.

@julzinha - that is a toughie. Some say it is dangerous (toxic) and some say that it isn't. It's crazy because when you look at the number of products that contain it - how can you possibly avoid it?

Isn't it also used in some baby products?

I'm sure it is. It is like the mineral oil of supplements, pretty much a cheap filler. My Vitacost brand MSM contains it and I've heard it slows absorption and I want to get as much from my MSM as possible, plus I take a high dosage. I'm emailing vitacost to see if I can exchange them for Doctor's Best brand which has no magnesium stearate.

Can we start adding prices to your reviews and ingredients too? lol I'm lazy to look up each price individually.

I'm currently taking hairfinity and looking to switch over to something cheaper when Im done with my bottles.
