Hair Porn :) Lots of pics (kinda big) transition over!

lol those straight ends peeking out are hilarious !!

Anyways, I know how it feels. The front of my hair is looser than the rest of my hair and it used to flop down when I was natural. The different textures began to annoy me ... and I relaxed. That was 5 years ago, now im transitioning again and I hope i will be able to deal with it somehow this time around

I also have some strands in my hair that are straight. My mother does too and she has been cutting those pieces off for years. I said to her the other day, Mum just because your African doesn't mean that you can't have straight pieces in your hair, if you always cut them to match the other textures of your hair you will never get there. She has developed an obsessive compulsive disorder every week in cutting out any straight pieces. Hairdressers and my mother used to cut my hair for years and years because of all these textures and the fact that it was fine so they saw the curly parts of my hair that stuck up and my frayed ends as damaged. It was not until last year when I stopped wearing extensions that I began to observe all the strands on my hair and noticed that some parts were straight and grew straight, some curly and grew in curly and others coarse and stayed that way so I no longer cut my hair I only give it a dust every now and then to even up the lenghts.

Best,
Almond Eyes

Do you know what your hair type is? B/c you hair looks very similar to mine (when I didn't relax).. Mine is just thinner than yours..
Absolutely beautiful..

Love the hair and the color. The straight pieces are interesting and i understand your frustration esp with the moisture. I have found for me with the weather changing that butters (and maybe henna) have helped my moisture problem. HTH! HHG!!

I love the color of your hair. I have different textures on myhead too. I'm just learning to roll with it. I like the eye color also.

Love your hair!!! The color is on point!!! I know it has to be a challenge working with the straight pieces/various textures, however you are doing a great job blending them. Thanks for sharing and Congratulations on completing your transition!!! :)

This system is so nutty you have sistahs w/ perfectly beautiful natual hair thinking it's damaged! Sheesh

The fron part of my hair is much looser than the rest. When I first BCed it thought they were relaxed parts so I kept on cutting :(

Beautiful hair OP.

Wow. Your hair is beautiful and you're making me think that I should BC too (I'm 12 months into my transition).
HHG!

You know what...I think I found my hair twin! Very pretty hair and congrats on the BC. I have combination hair as well. I havent BCed, but I'm close to 5 months post and my roots look like yours. As for the straight areas...very interesting. If you want it to curl up to blend in more, maybe some kinky curly will help....or maybe a braid out! In any case, you're working that fluffy fro girl!

Thanks so much :) I do braid outs sometimes but they just stay straight. Even when I leave some conditioner in (because my hair gets straighter, the dryer it gets), they just stay straight as a stick :(

I know, I used to get teased about it lol. What I'm figuring out is, I use a thicker conditioner in the back and a thinner one in front. It's been kind of working out that way. I'm still very early in my regime so I will post an update when I get it down :)

Thank you :) I don't really want to classify it (but on the hair type section of the profile I chose 3C because I think it's maybe closest to that) because what I do with one section won't gain the same results in the next.

Thanks :) I ordered some shea butter recently. I have EVOO and I want to try that and coconut oil. And avocado too!

You should! :) But only if you're comfortable because to me, that is so important. I wanted to grow out my natural hair long enough before I wore it out.

You would Iris you would...LOL. ;) My theory is that the whole Andre system is whacked because many if not most human beings have more than one texture naturally. It's the same thing w/ hair color really...most people have a mixture of colors when you examine the strands, so why not textures?

These hardcore categories people buy into very much around here, but how true are they really? People are actually fighting over this stuff w/o wondering just how true it really is.

Yeah, I remember one poster was going down my throat explaining to me why I was a 4B when I was first transitioning. I was thinking, "Well I have waves and curls and 4B isn't supposed to have defined curls, aren they?" It's just confusing, especially for me. I kind of settled with 3C only because the majority of my texture matches with them. BUT obviously not all, and what I'd do to the 3c will not work for the top, the front, or the back. Sooo idk I'm a 2c/3b/3c/4a?
