I just went and had a Design perm and had a trim, I am very pleased with the results and wanted to know what everyone here thought. This is my first time posting pictures. What is somethings that you all have been using to gain length. I already have the thickness now I just need the length.:drunk:

to gain length, I would say weekly washings with moisturizing shampoo and conditioner washes in between, moisturize and seal with oil daily and a lot of protective styling! Hope this helps a little bit :)

Protective styling has helped me retain length. Last year was the first time I ever retained all 6-inches (or close to 6-inches) for the year.

Your hair looks nice, super shiny.

Seems people are using protective styling to get to their goals. Until you get to the length you like you can try phony buns, which would keep your ends protected and help you retain length.

It's probably a good idea not to bun in the same spot all the time though. Good Luck with your hair journey:-)

I think I am going to take the route of wearing braids to gain my length that I want. I did that once and it really helped me with the length of my hair. i am going to add 3 more pictures, be sure to come back and check them out.

Deep condition everytime you wash! and dont slack or be afraid of protein your hair needs it...I would you Nexxus emergencee at least once a month and a mild one once a week! HHG

Beautiful shine! You're hair looks healthy. I would recommend consistency in your regime. Deep conditioning will be the key (1 or 2x per week) with products that will work best for your hair i.e. Joico. IMHO, our hair will grow slower than we would like so be patient.

HTH

Your hair looks great, but are you noticing that your hair seems like its not growing?

If this is the case, you are not retaining what you grow. I would definitely suggest protective styling and hiding your hair. You weren't overly specific in your post so its hard to say what things you are doing with your regimen.

Do you stretch relaxers? Do you use heat often to style your hair? What hairstyles do you wear on a regular basis? Do you manipulate your hair a lot?

All of these things are important to retain what you grow. I recommend hiding your hair (as you stated with braids) to get the growth you desire.

Love the bling! I know frequent cowashes and scalp massages have helped me a lot with growth, when i'm consistent with both i get a steady 1 inch per month.

Keep up the good work. The length will come by protecting your ends, moisturizing/sealing ends and protective styles (at least wearing your hair up and off your shoulders).
