Hey Tffy,
You may have better luck in the hair forum. But it is late, so it could go either way.
If you dont get too many responses, ask for it to be moved to the Hair forum...![]()
In African-American culture what is considered long hair?
Because of some Biblical studying I have done, I am in the process of deciding whether or not I want to start wearing head coverings and head wraps.
i think longer than collarbone... basically APL+ is considered "long."
what does the headwraps have to do with your question? (don't mean to sound rude, i'm jsut curious)
I've asked friends, mainly black men, what they consider long in terms of hair length and they responded with shoulder and beyond.
Sending you a PM about it. It has to do with the Bible and I don't want the thread to be moved.
I'd also like to know as well. I too have been considering if I want to wear headwraps or not but I'm still not certainerplexed
ITA. Before coming to LHCF i was stuck at SL. I was told all my life i had long hair.![]()
Voted APL and longer..
I never really thought SL was long even a little past SL mainly b/c many AA's reach this length, however many have problems getting to APL and beyond....
I think in general black women who dont know about hair care yet are either trying to get to shoulderlength, or stuck at it. Shoulderlength is like the big mileston....so shoulderlength & anything longer is probally considered long hair
I personally thought SL was long, but "average long" & anything past it was really amazing.
If you are talking about women on LHCF opinions on long hair i believe kninikakes (sp) has a poll asking what long hair was to people.
