Hair-cutting it...or not?!

I'm finally getting there, my hair is actually growing and I'm able to see the results. Sure it's only collarbone length, but that's huge for me! But the thing is if I get it trimmed I'll be back to shoulder length I just know it! So how do I avoid that? I have a friend that does my trims and she only cuts off those weak, sad ends that need to be let go....but if I keep trimming (mind you I don't have split ends, just old hair that is tired) then how will I ever reach my goal.

Is it harmful just to stretch some more until say April and then get a trim? I'm ready to do it for real just to see some results. Because I'm tired of staying at the same length and now that I'm seeing results, I just don't want to trim them away!

If your hair is not split, then why cut it? Just condition keep moisturized and lubricated. Protect the ends from damage and if you use heat, use sparingly. I would wait. Congrats on your progress :)

yep what she said!!

if you are diligent enough to only cut the damaged/split hairs, or have someone who will do the "search and destroy" mission for you, i say do it that way.

if you're ends aren't split, i say don't bother trimming unless you just feel like cutting your hair. and like the above poster said, just dust if it will put your mind at ease. but i'd prolly wait if i were you too. :look:

Maybe I am just clueless here but what is "old hair that is tired"? If you have length then all the hair on your head is old. I agree with the other ladies don't cut your hair until you actually need to. I mean if it's not broke don't fix it:grin:
