No major hair cuts, likes my hair long. He also says that the husbands and SO's of the women here at LHCF need their own website so they can talk about the nasty smelling things we put in our hair. This was prompted by me using Wild Growth Hair oil.

My DH said he was going to log on to LHCF and tell if I bought any hair products because I'm on a PJ challenge until July

He HATES

when I wear my scarf out in public with my hair wrapped underneath!

I remember one day he got so mad when I met up with him with my scarf on that he had the nerve to say to me " Didnt I tell you not to wear that scarf in public?!?!?!" I was like " I KNOW you aint talking to me crazy!!!!"

I try not to embarass him by wearing it too much anymore!

going completely bald.. If I say anything about cutting my hair ..hell be like uhhhh "NO"

The only thing that my husband is against is wigs. He feels that they are too fake. He would prefer that my hair looks a hot mess than for me to wear a wig.

He despises the smell of Dabur Amla. Lucky him that I didn't care for it on my hair. He does, however, come home to his kids smelling like it, since it works liken a dream on their hair.

hey Umsamayyah

what is Dabur Amla? and what exactly does it do to the hair? Thanks -- jainygirl

my fiance met me w/ microbraids (he thought it was my hair, go figure)...he used to tell me that he hated braids..the more negative things he would say about them, the more i would wear them...needless to say, he is always complimenting them now....he just doesn't want me to do a big chop

jainy, go to http://www.dabur.com . It is an Indian hair oil, used as a pre-poo treatment. I thought I read somewhere that mineral oil, when heated, is bad for the hair, (i think esp. if it is chemically treated). I know that Dabur Amla has mineral oil in it (though I think the "Dabur Lite" doesn't) That's why I never use it with heat, and it is perfect that way for little kids, who aren't trying to sit under a heating cap anyway. Hth.

My boyfriend thinks that if a woman cuts her hair she loses all her strength, I have no idea where he gets that from lol, but when I cut my hair he said I look cute but he told me its never gonna grow back so I guess Im on a quest of proving him Wrong

Sounds like he's thinking of Samson in the bible. He lost his superhuman strength when Delilah cut his hair.

My husband said to never cut my hair, but I love long hair so I would never cut it anyway. I just give him the satisfaction of feeling like he has sayso when it comes to my hair

Let's see... not to get it relaxed again, cut or use any heat. He doesn't like anything he thinks is "violent" to hair.

After that Andre3000 comment last Thanksgiving, I don't dare wear it bone-straight in front of him again!
We've been dating for 4 years and it was the first time he saw my hair straight.

He JUMPED BACK when he saw me!

My ex-SO forbid me to do a big chop. I did one anyway and it all broke loose. I wish I would have sit there and listened to him tell me what to do to my hair! It's MY HAIR and I'm gonna do what I want to it! You don't like it, then bounce!

We aren't together anymore, and the hair had a big part in that. But why was he over here last night, pray tell?

Good lookin' out, lisatamika's DH!!!

You're lucky that he's keeping you in check, cuz this PJ Challenge stuff gets HARD sometimes!!

My dh has never interfered with me and my hair, but he shocked me after I got a short cut. He told me that he actually preferred my hair short, in a bob, to the very long hair that I have always had. He said that my long hair was too much for my thin face.

He makes a great point, but I'm not listening

well, let's see....

no cutting
no weave
no 'loud' colors
no hair styles requiring a construction permit...

- this is what we did on april 10th when i told him i NEEDED a trim...

but i told him to 'talk to the hand!' because i refuse to have 2 long strings just to appease him.

WOW!! I find it funny that so many of you have BF's who actually CARE how long your hair is!!
laugh.gif
laugh.gif
Mine likes my hair long... I guess... he does compliment me when my twistouts look extra nice... and he does comment on how long my hair is getting... but I think that if I decided to cut it off and get a short style, he wouldn't have a problem with that, either...
look.gif
He's toooo sweet... he's always like "As long as YOU'RE happy..."
grin.gif
I think his big thing is that he thinks hair should look HEALTHY... whether it's long or short doesn't really matter to him...

My ex has always liked long hair and says why fix it if it's not broken. So when he first saw me cut my hair 3 yrs. ago and again a few months back, he wasn't too happy and didn't like it. He was the only one who didn't like while everyone else gave it raves! But I guess you could tell I don't really listen to him anyway. LOL.
